COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Sudwerk Pilsner.

A Northern German-style Pilsner brewed in Northern California. Our pilsner is brewed entirely with pale two-row Weyermann, true to the style. A special blend of Bavarian Hallertauer and Tettnanger hops are used during brewing, adding to the sharp finish. Winner of the coveted “Brewers Choice” award for 25 consecutive years and counting.

Clear golden pour with a finger of white head. Sweet and grainy nose, but some decent malt aroma of bread and dough. Light floral and spicy hops, yeast, and a touch of grass. The flavor is a bit simple and sweet. Quite grainy. As with the nose, some malt flavor and body. Very lightly hopped with just a light floral quality. No real bitterness, some mild apple esters, and a little grass on the finish.

Tap at Congregation. White head dissolves in five minutes over fast lacing and a clear, pilsner body. Aroma is pilsner mild but straw, grass, and some process of baking whole grain bread or urine. Taste is mildly sweet becoming water with a long, mild bitter finish. There is mild umami somewhere between the aroma and the finish. Overall, very good, but there are better.

Bottle. The aroma is grassy and malty. Flavor is similar, with some bread crust and zest along with the grass and malts. Crisp finish, slightly sweet. Very tasty for a pilsner!

Tap, Napa Valley Burger Co.,Sausalito, CA, 16/08/12. Excellent, dewy mown grass and shrub aroma. Palate has light sulphur; grass again, clean biscuit malt sweetness with a nice parting smack of hop. Bright and lacy. Really decent.

12oz bottle pours crystal clear deep gold with thin near white head. The mild aroma offers up floral to spicy hops with mild sweet Pilsner like maltiness and a vague sort of earthiness in the background. The taste is pleasingly not overly sweet or overly floral. That works for me. I get sort of spicy to earthy to floral hop bitterness rimmed with some hop flavor and thin rings of sweet malts. The noble hop bitterness increases some into the finish. Alright. Another tasty lager from Sudwerk.

Light in color and aroma with a grassy nose. Malt and yeast dominate the flavor profile with just a hint of bitterness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas of lemon, vanilla and oats. Appearance is light gold with a thin foam top. Taste is crisp and smooth with faint flavors of lemon and coriander. Overall, don’t expect a full or flavorful beer. With that said, I do find this a crisp and refreshing beer with good drinkability. I’d give this a C- rating.

[355ml bottle, Appellation Wines, Edinburgh] Pours a golden clear yellow with a beamingly bright head. Plenty of rising carbonation. Soft, sweet aroma of biscuity malt. Slightly tangy on the palate, leading to a bitter, crisp finish. A decent pilsner – some faint flowery hop in there, the whole thing is (as you’d expect) very drinkable [09032012]

Bottle, mybrewerytap.com. Glistening pale yellow, sweet malt aroma, soft palate and a slightly nutty finish.

Bog standard pilsner - nothing much else to say. Well made but I doubt I could distinguish it from stella
