COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Sudwerk Pilsner.

A Northern German-style Pilsner brewed in Northern California. Our pilsner is brewed entirely with pale two-row Weyermann, true to the style. A special blend of Bavarian Hallertauer and Tettnanger hops are used during brewing, adding to the sharp finish. Winner of the coveted “Brewers Choice” award for 25 consecutive years and counting.

Bottle. The aroma is grassy and malty. Flavor is similar, with some bread crust and zest along with the grass and malts. Crisp finish, slightly sweet. Very tasty for a pilsner!

12 oz. bottle. It pours a very effervescent clear yellow color with a disappearing white head. The aroma is very floral and minerally. The flavor is the same with a nice noble hop presence and a clean palate. A little bit of aspirin in the finish that throws it a bit off for me. I’m not sure if this is the new version of their old Pilsner, but I liked the previous one better.

Pours golden yellow with a nice white head. The aroma is bready/grainy with some sweet corn and some grassy, noble hops. The flavor is pretty big with a full body and some bread and corn. Strong noble hop presence offsets the sweetness. The finish is nice with some earthy bitterness and a touch of sulfer. Overall, a nice flavorful pils that’s just a little too sweet for my tastes.

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2006 Date on bottle says 04/01/03. Bought in a cheap liquor store in downtown Reno (that also still had 03 Celebration). Small floaties and a pale gold color, light head, fairly retentive with no lacing. The nose is metallic with light hops and and grainy malts. Tastes a bit sweet and fruity with a nice fresh taste of hops and acidified malts. Clean brief finish, perhaps a bit old almost but a decent pils. Update: Had a newer bottle and it was nearly identical, maybe .1 higher and w/o the light metal note, still crispy.

A refreshing summer beer. Borderline light for this style, though better than most American pilseners. A pale lager without the corn or rice spritzy known in macrobrews. I would like more hop bite and aroma. Not as "rich" as adertised, in my opinion.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Clear yellow with a white head leaving some lacework. Aroma of malt and perhaps some flowery hops. Medium body, sweetish malt and a little sulphur. Dry and lightly bitter finish. 100709

This one is a pretty classically done Pilsner - so as such it does not do a whole lot for me, though I have to give them credit for accuracy. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright straw yellow color with a huge creamy white head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was dryish cereal and light crisp perfumey and grassy hops. The flavor was tangy and citric with a sourdough bread undertone and crisp herbal hops. The finish was medium length and tangy with lingering bread and herbal hops. Light body. Ok.

Bog standard pilsner - nothing much else to say. Well made but I doubt I could distinguish it from stella

Aromas of lemon, vanilla and oats. Appearance is light gold with a thin foam top. Taste is crisp and smooth with faint flavors of lemon and coriander. Overall, don’t expect a full or flavorful beer. With that said, I do find this a crisp and refreshing beer with good drinkability. I’d give this a C- rating.

Pale gold with no head. Aroma of lemon drops. Dry malty with mild hop bitterness. Finish is dry and malty. Crisp, clean and not particularly interesting.
