COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Light in color but rich in character, Sudwerk Pilsner is brewed with pale two-row malt, and Hallertau and Tettnang hops of the highest caliber. Pale straw in color, malty, with an elegant bitterness and a fragrant hop aroma.

A pretty boring pilsner. Pours a clear yellow. No smell, and not much taste either. A little spicy. Boring. Had at tap at the Bay Area Craft Beer Festival. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

(12oz Bottle. Draft at brewery. Draft. 03/2006) Wonderful sulfur, malt and floral hop aromas. Beautiful pale straw gold just approaching gold with a fizzy white head. Malty with just the right hint of hops. A medium-full palate. This really is a good beer and I’m not sure why it is rated so low ... maybe it just doesn’t travel well?

A refreshing summer beer. Borderline light for this style, though better than most American pilseners. A pale lager without the corn or rice spritzy known in macrobrews. I would like more hop bite and aroma. Not as "rich" as adertised, in my opinion.

My bottle was commercially labelled for the Marines’ Historical Hotel and Museum in San Francisco, CA. named "Leatherneck Lager." picture of a marine on front running with a rifle. pretty cool. unfortunately, the beer itself leaves much to be desired. looks like gingerale. a very clear, watered hay-yellow, bubbling over (highly carbonated). little aroma. sweet malts. tastes of roasted malts and finishes slightly bitter (mild hops). thin mouthfeel, at first, but an offense and viscous residue is left uncomfortably behind. overall a weak, bland taste. not much too it.

Bottle. The aroma is grassy and malty. Flavor is similar, with some bread crust and zest along with the grass and malts. Crisp finish, slightly sweet. Very tasty for a pilsner!

Light golden color. Aroma of grainy malts, hops and apple. Smooth and refreshing with a bitter finish. Fairly carbonated and medium bodied.

Tap at Congregation. White head dissolves in five minutes over fast lacing and a clear, pilsner body. Aroma is pilsner mild but straw, grass, and some process of baking whole grain bread or urine. Taste is mildly sweet becoming water with a long, mild bitter finish. There is mild umami somewhere between the aroma and the finish. Overall, very good, but there are better.
