COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Sudwerk Pilsner.

A Northern German-style Pilsner brewed in Northern California. Our pilsner is brewed entirely with pale two-row Weyermann, true to the style. A special blend of Bavarian Hallertauer and Tettnanger hops are used during brewing, adding to the sharp finish. Winner of the coveted “Brewers Choice” award for 25 consecutive years and counting.

Aromas of lemon, vanilla and oats. Appearance is light gold with a thin foam top. Taste is crisp and smooth with faint flavors of lemon and coriander. Overall, don’t expect a full or flavorful beer. With that said, I do find this a crisp and refreshing beer with good drinkability. I’d give this a C- rating.

Pale gold with no head. Aroma of lemon drops. Dry malty with mild hop bitterness. Finish is dry and malty. Crisp, clean and not particularly interesting.

Pours a clear golden yellow with minimal white head. Aroma is slight malt and biscuit. Flavor is more malty and bready than most pilsners but is nice. Slight bitterness. Nice beer.

"a pretty decent example of the style, but definitely not a standout. had a SA Noble Pils later in the same day that i first tried this, and SA blows it away. Clean and crisp, with a nice slight malt character and a touch of hops. bubbly, but little to no head. decent."

Pour is a clear yellow with a average white head. Aroma is a dry pils malt but also a kind of sweet simple syrup to it. Flavor loses the sweetness from the aroma. The rest it your typical dry cracker malt with just enough grassy hop. Typical easy drinking soild pils neither great nor bad.

On tap, part of the 10 beer sampler. Light color, slighty hoppy, but not much to it.

Crisp....really crisp. A common claim for pilsners so I guess that is the desirable feature, and this one overachieves at that. Overall, it is a a lot better than macro lager. The ugly nuttyness that dances with Saccharomyces pastorianus is on full display. Sudwerk brews up some good stuff, but they make styles that are not my favorite. So "great for style" is final verdict.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of grain, corn, and a hint of hops. Poured pale yellow in color with a small, white head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Sparkling. Flavor is slightly sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of grain, corn, and some hops. Light body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt and hop finish is lightly bitter.

On tap. Not very impressive as far as body or flavor. This brew was lightly carbinated and very smooth. It was ok.
