3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Bevmo: Created a small layer of foam head while the liquid was a sparkling golden blonde. As for the nose, there was grassy grained malt and true authentic European hops. The flavor is considerably sweet with a light crisp taste of European hops, grained malt and a heavy background of alcohol.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured minimal head on a hazy medium straw colored body.
It smells like a barnyard and wet hay, though in the best way.
The taste is big malt bill tempered by some lemon bitterness; fairly sweet overall.
A soft texture with some crispness and low carbonation.
Itís full bodied and good.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Skunky aroma and taste. Probably an old bottle judging from the dates on the other posts. Grass with light bitterness. Hard to find any malts. Dry finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very crisp and dry. A bit of hoppiness in the finish that adds some bitterness, but not too much. Very drinkable given the strength.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear golen color with lingering white sheen. White bread, honey, berry fruit, lagered yeasty aromas. Medium body. Dusty pale malt, honey slathered white bread flavors with earthy, fruity hoppage--not bad.

Crisp yet balanced malt compliment the slightly forward hop bitterness. Light and refreshing with a rich flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From notes. First reviewed 10/29/2011. Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tulip.
My pour has a ruby brown color with a tan sea foam froth. The beer retains some of the head, but mostly just a collar.
There is a bready note that gets lost among some fig, banana, spice, fig, and a strong cranberry tartness.
The tartness is what is most interesting about this beer. A bready malt starts soft and sweet, with some dark fruits. A bit of banana, clove, and all spice hide behind tart cherry and cranberry flavors. The finish is a bit sour.
The sour kind of creates a puckering dryness that detracts a bit from the flavor. The front is medium-full bodied and a bit sweet. The carbonation is on the bubbly side.
This was interesting, even though I donít think it was intended to be tart.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: 22 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 1/9/12
Aroma: The nose is heavy on malts, with grains, cereal, bread, earth, herbal notes, spice, and grass
Appearance: Pours a clear, bright golden-yellow color with a thick, foamy white head, and light-mid lace
Flavor: The taste is pretty well balanced between the fairly heavy, but not overly sweet, bread/cereal/grain malts, and the light-medium bitterness that comes from the earthy/herbal/grass hops as well as the spice
Palate: It is medium-full bodied with a well-rounded, a highly drinkable feel, and an average carbonation
This turned out to be a really interesting offering. It actually surprised me how much I liked it. I found it to be a well-made, fairly complex, extremely balanced, and highly drinkable offering. I liked what they did here. This is the first thing Iíve had from their "Signature Series" and it is a clear step-up from their regular 12 oz offerings. I would happily try more from these guys, I find they do a pretty good job of incorporating some nice flavors into these standard German styles, without moving too far from the traditional flavors of those style. Well done.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This brew pours a somewhat cloudy straw color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops and bready malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character that has notes of pepper and citrus, with some malt behind it. The finish retains a citrusy, spicy hops zing. Above average overall.
