Bottle from the Co-op in Davis, CA. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Aroma of noble hop. Medium body with creamy/foamy carbonation. Flavor is a bit bready with a lot of grassy/spicey hop. It’s pleasantly bitter and quite tasty. There’s malt sweet but the bitter seems to stay on top without losing the sugar. Nice.

Bottle from Bevmo. Pours clear yellow with a nice white head and a faint floral aroma. Yes, there is probably enough ingredient to warrant an "imperial" label, but the flavor just isn’t there. Some light malt and a sort of crisp bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 notalush (4173) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 10, 2010
Thanks to bhensonb for this one - clear gold - effervescent pour - soapy ring of lace - medium bitter, medium dry aroma, with quite a bit of herbal and grassy character - faint honey sweet maltiness - some noticeable alcohol detracts a bit from enjoying the aroma - lively mouthfeel, medium-full carbonation - fairly sweet, but strong, spicy noble hops are certainly the star of the show here - the beer dries out somewhat through the middle, but an unwelcome sweetness returns and lingers through the finish, - some alcohol warmth arrives and tries it’s best to work with the spiciness of the hops - a bit too heavy and sweet on the tail end, never delivering the crisp, dry finishes it hints at through the middle - there are some good things here - I feel like, if they made this a regular pils at about 5%, it would have been a phenomenal beer - alas.
