Taverner (423), San Ramon, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Nose is caramel with floral hops. Taste of bread in the finish. It pours cloudy and and truly yellow golden. bhensonb (2769), Woodland, California, USA Jan 12, 2008 This one fooled me when I ordered. I thought it would be xtra pale, i.e. weak. Wrong. Nice floral, grapefruit and pine aromas. Orangey gold color with a creamy white head. Medium body with smooth carbonation. Flavor is grapefruity/floral hop with not a lot of malt. It tastes great and finished bitter. With a slight bite. timfoolery (322), California, USA Dec 21, 2007 On tap at Sudwerk. A very similar brew to the IPA, this one hit harder on the hops and didn’t have much body to speak of. It was very hoppy though and deserving of the genre. DTM (351), Winters, California, USA Dec 21, 2007 On tap, part of the 10 beer sampler. Very hoppy beer that ended with a dry bittnerness. Poured a pale yellow with minimal head, DYCSoccer17 (2004), Davis, California, USA Feb 3, 2007 Half liter on tap at the brewpub in Davis, CA 02/03/07. THe thing I hate most about Sudwerk is that they don’t list their ABVs or any sort of blurb explaining the beer. I personally feel as though this is an IIPA. Intense, piney, grapefruity, PNW hoppness present in the nose. Extremely aromatic and quaffable with a light sweet malty aroma. Very nice, although somewhat one-dimensional aroma. Moderately hazy orange-colored body with a medium frothy whitish head and light lacing. Very hoppy, resiny and grapefruity pine hop flavors hit you right away. There is a miniscule faint malt sweetness in the middle, which is then whisked away by the very bitter, resiny hoppiness to finish. The finish is dry with some grapefruitiness. A bit harsh and unbalanced. This beer makes me feel like I am at one of the many brewpubs in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA.
