PhillyCraft (3166) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 6, 2013
UPDATED: MAR 7, 2013 Bottle at Benihana, pours like water, maybe a little gold tinted. No head or lacing. Nose is peach, pineapple, wood, and light anise. Flavor is citrus, rice, grain, vanilla and vodka. So much booze and bland. I have tried about 5 sakes in my life and I am now ready to give up on them. Just too much heat and not enough aroma or flavor profile. This mostly reminded me of watered down cheap vodker. Pass

Bottle 300ml.

Clear cristal water colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy rice, coconut rice, light to moderate alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, fruity, rice, alcohol, coconut, pineapple notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. Bottle at Papsř tasting. Crystal clear with a very mellow, vaguely spicey rice-aroma. Clean cut, very subbtle, light rice-sweetness, with an intriguing gentle licorice finish.

Thanks to Jan for this bottle. A clear sake with an aroma of Marmite, alcohol and coconut rice. Alcohol is fairly present with similar flavours. A lingering pineapple character with quite a dry finish. A long alcohol hum also. Very nice.

Bottled. A light yellow sake. The aroma has notes of cedar wood, rice, and a bit of lemons. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, rice, cedar wood, and a bit of lemons, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.
