3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask gravity at Kent BF 2006. Hazy gold with thin off white head. Odd flavours of fruity malt and then very strong hop finish (resiny hop). May develop over a day or 2 to be brilliant. One to come back to later in the festival. It has presence. Whiskyish malt aroma. Spicey hop finish

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Aldi 020112
Amber, clear, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma - Soft sweet golden caramel malts, soft cereals
Taste - Soft caramel malts, hint of toasted malts, touch of unusual smokiness - bit farmyardy, vague hint of citrus, some bitter hop in background, odd flavour but it’s drinkable
Palate - soft carb, medium body, quite oily. Sweetish malts and light bitter hop palate. Finish - fairly dry. bitter lingering dryness, palate not that clean.
Overall - Very average beer, some unusual smokiness in the sweetish malts that makes it stand out a bit though, hop presence is just some soft bitterness. Reasonable.

Pours a deep golden-amber. Toffee malts give way to a fruitiness and hoppy spritz.

On cask (handpump) at Great British Beer Festival, day 3 on 6 August 2009. Bright mid gold / amber colour. Decent condition. Some light biscuity malt. Not a lot of hops in evidence. OK but a bit dull. Some green apple notes. Maybe not in the best of shape.
