Cask @ Standing order. Muddled rusty water color, with stable head. Boring aroma has bread and phenols. Strange! Has almost a fishy character. Weird, salty and bready with orange marmelade and ferrous/iron notes too...having said that it’s not horrible, just should be better.

Cloudy light brown. The aroma is dull, maybe a bit malty. Nutty, but a bit phenolic. Not a good one, really, and the second time with phenol issues from this brewery.

Bottle 500ml.
Clear medium amber color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, damped stained, earth, light caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100417]

Bottle, 5.0%. Quite malty aroma. Clear dark brown colour. Small frothy almost white head. The flavour is roasted and a little papery. Also roasted finish.

Cask @ Guildford Arms, Edinburgh.
Pours clear ruby with a good, frothy, off-white head. Aroma is lightly grainy, very malty sweet, but with a great note of strawberries. Light carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, some fne strawberry notes, light toasted caramel and hazel nuts. Fine, flowery bitter finish. Good with the fruitiness.

Cask, Bodega, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Copper colour with a thin off white head. Malty, slightly farty aroma with a hint of fruit. All feels very supressed, with flavours struggling to get out. Drinkable, but pretty dull fayre.

Pours a decent bronze colour. Aroma is normal malt/hops. Taste is a little more unusual, an odd smoked character, sour cherries and cereal flavours with a bitter finish. Decent enough pint.
