Cask by handpump at Hengler’s Circus, Glasgow - hazy golden, thin white head, yeasty aroma, hint of caramel, no lacing, strong flavour of tar, soft carbonation, most unusual flavour

Cask at Salt Cot (jdw). Cloudy gold colour with decent head. Aroma of banana and wheat. Tastes banana wheat porridge antiseptic kiwi and herb. Slightly oily on palate. Low carbonation. Started off pretty awful but grew on me.

Scopey (5528) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2012
Bottle from the Cairn o Mohr shop. It pours lightly hazy golden yellow, with a thick white head. The nose is dough, wheat, hint of spice and sweet fruit. The taste is very fruity (nectarine, apple and banana), dough, spice, warming alcohol and citrus pith with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Unusual, but not bad.

Bottle at Dan’s. 2ish years old, so take with a pinch of salt. Aroma is bread (like freshly baked baguette, not just bready) and cider. Taste is wheaty, a bit sweet, a little fruity. It should be far erode for its age. Impressed.

Bottle at home. Very past its best. Pours an orangey amber with a thin head that fades to absolutely nothing. Big bready/slightly balsamic/grassy nose. No hops left! Palate is sweet front, slightly oily caramel, some nice malt notes. Honeyed also, and a touch of light hefe character even. Finish is very slightly bitter, with a bit of cloying banana sweetness. Hint of off cideryness too, very odd. Not horrific though considering its age!

On cask at the Standing Order. Pours a cloudy blonde colour with a fair white head. Aroma of yeast, tar and caramel. Similar flavours with tar quite prominent again. Moderate carbonation and light CO2 prickle.

First tasted this at the Troon Beer Festival in September 2003. Cask, handpump dispense. Cloudy amber in colour with a thin poor white head. Strong aroma of jellied fruits long in the nose. Thin but refreshing mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malts give a fruity base with gooseberry, kiwi and lime flavours full in the mouth. Citrusy fruit notes in the dusty hop resins compliment the fruity malt well. Refreshing opal fruit flavour in the long lingering sweet finish. An excellent example of a Wheat Ale and a good change from the plethora of golden ales out there - I like variety!

Bottle from The Scottish Real Ale Shop. Sweet wheat aroma. Cloudy light brown colour. Flat, no head. Strong barbecue, resin & glue flavour. Watery. Poor.
