stravale (2062) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - OCT 24, 2013
Cask @ Port Street Beer House, Manchester [171013]
Pitch black, dense beige head, good lacing
Aroma of soft roasted malts, touch spicy, slight fruits, smooth
Taste of smooth deep dark malts, only slight blacknerry which is too subtle, nice dark chocolate, liking the malts in this, booze well hidden
Palate - Medium to full body, very smooth, very soft deep roast, probabaly the blackberry of offsetting the roast but gets cancelled out somewhat at the same time. FInish as main flavour, good chocolate
Overall - Very nice chocolately porter, nothing like the name though so its a 3.9 instead of 4

Scopey (6291) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 13, 2013
Cask at IMBC 2013. It pours near black with a medium beige head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, light smoke, mild berry and some jammy fruit. The taste is bitter-sweet, blackberry, blueberry, jammy, bruised fruit, toast, light roast and coffee grinds. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent, but perhaps a touch too sweet.

Beersiveknown (2774) - NORTHERN IRELAND - OCT 6, 2013
Keg@the famous royal navy volunteer, Bristol
Ruby tinged dark brown with lacing offwhite head. Robust, earthy, dry porter, not much sign of berries at first but blackberries (brambles) come through in the finish as it warms. A nice porter but needs more berry!

AshtonMcCobb (2360) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 13, 2013
On cask at The Hanging Bat. Appearance - opaque brown to black with a generous head. Nose - intense chocolate and prunes with a big roasty note underneath. Taste - more prunes and chocolate, maybe a bit of smoke. Palate - big structure, deep texture and a slightly sweet boozey finish but it’s forgiveable on this big of a beer. Overall - it’s a winner.

allmyvinyl (2895) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 13, 2013
Cask at The Hanging Bat. Pours dark brown with an excellent off-white head. Good lacing. Very rich nose, chocolate and morello cherries, cooked plums, dark sugars, some roasted notes too. Complex. Taste continues with a light sweetness and roasted bitterness, with more fruit character coming through. Very nice.
