Bottle from Coppers in Newcastle. Hazy golden coloured with sweet tropical juicy fruit flavours and a sharp, slight woody bitter finish.

Pours a lovely golden orange with a thin white head. Nice dry hopped American style IPA which dominates the aroma and pursues the taste throughout the smooth drinking experience up front which develops into a dry finish. A really enjoyable beer that really gets the American IPA style right (and at a good price!).

Bottle from Appellation. Pours a light golden colour with a fair white head. Interesting citric aroma with grapefruit, lemon and tangerines. Similar flavours and quite bitter with lingering grapefruit and tangerines again. Mild carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Very nice.

330ml bottle, Coppers, Ncl. Love the caramel aroma coming from the big hops, lures you into a bit of a false sense of security. I expected a really soft creamy palate, which you just get on the front of the tongue, but, at the back, there’s a really tangy, sharp, refreshing bitterness, with almost acidic citrus late on. Poured with a thin, clean white head and a really nice gold appearance. Another cracker.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Smells particularly yummy - sweet, fruity hops. It’s rather dry. Finish is rather dry. Apart from the Arabian peninsular-style finish, it’s a refreshing pale ale.

Bottle at home. Hazy orange amber, thick rocky white head fades to a thin film. Pungent, resinous juicy tropical fruits on the nose - passion fruit, citrus, pineapple, gooseberry. Nice pithy dry palate, slightly herbal, lots of bitter grapefruit, puckeringly dry finish. Tasty.

Bottle shared at the Earl of Essex, London, pre-Zwanze release. Pours cloudy yellow with a HUGE, white foam head. Big brett-esque aroma, some straw, lemon and poop. Light to medium sweet flavor with big poo character, lemony plastic, grass. Light to medium bodied with mouth-filling, massaging carbonation. Dry finish with some lemon rind. There is lots of brett and farmyard character here, but I’m not sure it’s intentional. This beer is more like a saison than an APA. Very nice, but, yeah.

Cask at the Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Shared with Keen. Clear gold beer, good bubbly head. Light semi dry palate. Sweetish pale malt balances nice hops. Clementine and tangerine. Nicely joined up. Overall a sweetish pale ale but does have some mild bitter linger.
