McNeillR (1140) - SCOTLAND - SEP 29, 2013
Golden orange, thinnest film of off white head crumpling into a fight e Fairly ringed effort. Unsavvy and disappointing half peeled clementine nose, simple but lacking any impact. Sumptuous and soothing orange, drip of papaya brightening things up towards the middle. Comforting pat on the palate bitterness, edging to a grippy oiliness on the finish, tucked in carbonation. Just the right side of quenching rindy dryness to finish and gum massaging on the linger.
I’m assuming the build for the Devil Loves brews is similar, and long may my favourite single hop UK series continue, put this lacked a full on Sauvin assault. Nose was distant and roof of mouth fresh pine impaling missed, the quench was superb. Fantastic nonetheless.

Keg, Hanging Bat

Theydon_Bois (8290) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2013
Keg at the Cask, Pimlico, 16/09/13. Hazed amber with a moderate sized off white head. Nose is juicy hops, caramel, tangerine, red grapefruit, melon. Taste comprises light grass notes, candied sugars, cantaloupe melon, grapefruit, orange, caramel malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet finish with some hop bitterness present. Nice stuff if a little overly sweet at times which lets it down a touch. £4.50 a half for a 7% beer from West Yorks - that’s taking the piss a little Craft group !
