Cask at the Euston Tap - 06/02/13. Mid black with a good sized frothy tan head that retains well. Good lacing ensues. Nose carries roast malt, chocolate, molasses, burnt toffee. Taste comprises milk chocolate, roast malt, mineral tones, slightly burnt notes, tobacco. Medium in body with soft carbonation and a little bitterness in the finish. Decent stout.

Rune (6125) - Tromsø, NORWAY - FEB 4, 2013
Half pint served from cask at Port Street Beer House. Rustic highlights to a very dark coloured body. Dotted spots to the glassware. Smell of dark malts with cocoa notes. Taste of wood, cocoa and vanilla offset by fruity hops. Bittersweet malty tail. A nice one to finish off our second day in Manchester, 22.01.2013.

Cask from The Ale House, Chelmsford. This is a delicious, easy to drink milk stout. Very dark with a good head - no beer could look better! Thick, excellent texture. Milk chocolate aroma. Best beer of the year so far...

Leighton (6955) - London, ENGLAND - DEC 11, 2012
Cask at The Rake, London. Pours dark brown with a small, beige froth head. Dark malt nose, some milk chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor, chocolate syrup, dark bread, light baking cocoa, faint earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Sweet, lightly sticky finish, lots of milk chocolate, very faint lacto notes, dark sugars. Good balance, very tasty.

AleTsar (1331) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 29, 2012
Keg @ Hanging Bat, Edinburgh 281112
Black, thin off white head that dissipated to thin rim, no lacing
Aroma - light roasted malts, soft chocolate, light aroma
Taste - Soft roasted malts, soft chocolate, milk sugars, some dark milk chocolate malts, some funny lactose thing going on which is quite nice, touch of Bournville
Palate - medium carb and body, creamy texture, oily and somewhat gooey. Finish - creamy soft roast, chocolate, viscous finish, bit of dryness, more bitter roast in the tail. The gooey residue in the finish I’m not so keen on.
Overall - Ok decent milk stout
