Cask from The Ale House, Chelmsford. This is a delicious, easy to drink milk stout. Very dark with a good head - no beer could look better! Thick, excellent texture. Milk chocolate aroma. Best beer of the year so far...

330ml bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield - Deep back body, tan head. Nose of chocolate and liquorice, a bit of burnt wood smoke too. Sweet taste, bit milky and some chocolate. Quite enjoyable, but too sweet over the long run.

Bottle. Near black with a beige head. Aromas are chocolate milkshake with blackberries and earthy coffee. Medicinal with herbal liquorice and prunes. Flavours are coffee and dark berries with cream. Raisins with hints of lemon and nutty cola. Herbal with chocolate and a leafy palate. Good.

330ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with a dark copperish glimmer and small, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Chocolately, dark malty aroma, some roast. Taste is roasty and chocolately dark malty, minimally tart-ish hints of lactic acid.

Black color with a tanned very small head that disappears immediately. Aromas are strong: roasted malt, chocolate and some toffee and liquorice notes. Flavor is sweet malt and some final very light bitterness and sourness. Body is a little watery and carbonation is low.
