Cask from The Ale House, Chelmsford. This is a delicious, easy to drink milk stout. Very dark with a good head - no beer could look better! Thick, excellent texture. Milk chocolate aroma. Best beer of the year so far...

Half at Euston tap. Pours jet black, no head. Lactose, chocolate nose. Very smooth milk flavour. Some chocolate coffee. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours a black body with a small off-white head. Nose is licorice, roasted bread, coffee, vanilla and hints of lactic sugary tones, almonds and caramel. Taste is dark chocolate, lactic sweetness, vanilla, caramel and hints of licorice and coffee. Full body, medium carbonation. Too sweet in a cookie kinda way, as far as I am concerned, but not a complete miss per se.

Draught at 3 Smĺ Rum, Göteborg. Near black with dark brown hues and a thin, lightly tanned head. Sweet aroma with roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, lactic notes and light liquorice. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a soft carbonation. Finishes slightly dry with roasted mats and chocolate milk. Good sweet Stout.

Bottle from Bier Huis, Ossett. This comes across a bit tart and thin, with a sugary finish. But with something nutty sweet to eat, i.e. a muffin made by the Missus, with gianduja, peanut butter, and chocolate lumps, then all of a sudden, it comes really good. A good dessert beer, is what I’m trying to say.

Keg @ Drygate. Almost black, reasonable head. Sour treacle malt aroma. Bitter sweet coffee flavour. Coffee aftertaste. Not bad but a bit to sweet for me.

Bottle. Black in colour with brown head, nice lacing. In aroma the beer is sweet - malt, chocolate, milky. In taste dark malts, sweet chocolate, coffee. Medium bodied, light carbonation, could be less thin on the palate. Good sweet stout.

Barwa: ciemna, nieprzejrzysta nawet pod światło. Piana beżowa, drobno pęcherzykowa, niestety bardzo szybko opadająca i zanikająca prawie całkowicie. Aromat: słodowy bardzo przyjemny - ciemne słody, czekolada, kawa, lekkie malanoidyny. Smak: słodowy, dość pełny, zdecydowanie słodki z delikatną nutą kwaskową. Czekolada, kawa, spieczone ciasto. Wytrawna, palona i nieco alkoholowa końcówka.

Bottle. Pours black with a low, brown head. Aroma is sweet: malty, notes of chocolate. Sweet chocolate, a bit of coffee in taste. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Nice sweet stout.

Tap at the Euston tap. Opaque dark caramel coloured pour with a thin greyish head. Aroma is subdued cocoa powder, roast and mineral. Flavour is weird sickly sweet, milk, chalky carbonation and lactose sweet. Palate is sweet and semi dry. Misses the mark and the balance is way off.

Heerlijk romige milkstout met ook nog eens een mooie balans met koffie en chocolade. Een topper.
