(Keg at Black Door, 20130720) The beer poured deep amber and cloudy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fresh grass, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Afteraste was hoppy and bitter. Overall impresion was musty.

Cask @ CPK. Deep amber color with a small white head. The nose is orange and bright peach fruits, light grass and wet hay. The taste is much the same, summery fruits and light citrus with a grassy finish. The body’s medium, the carbonation soft. Overall, a tasty pale ale from Summer Wine. Not a standout, though.

Bottle at Deans impromptu Monday Tasting, Den Haag. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin white head and some broken white lace. The aroma is rich nettle hop citrus malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a rich tropical fruit palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Lots going on. Lots of fresh fruit flavours.

On tap at Euston Tap. Hazy amber body with medium head. Nose is quite sweet and fruity. Taste also plenty of fruits, with malts in there as well. Nice bitter in the finish.

Bottle at The Victoria, Birmingham. Really very good indeed. Thick, juicy hops which roll around your mouth like marbles. Full flavoured from nose to tail. Like it ale ot.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail

BBE 30 Jun 2013 - Pours dark orange with a bubbly white head. Aroma of piney hops, hints of grass and caramely malts. Taste is grassy, hoppy and bitter with piney notes and caramely malts. Finish is dry and bitter with some long lasting grassy hoppiness and hints of pine. Okay, a bit one-dimensional but still quite tasty APA.

Idiosynkrasie (3578) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 13, 2013
330ml bottle. Hazy dark orangey golden colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Hoppy aroma has notes of tangerine, kumquat, grapefruit and pine, a slightly herbal overtone, some buiscuit in the caramely malt basis. Taste is herbal hoppy with a strange spicy touch that overstrains my ability of description, kind of soapy coriander or so. Overall OK.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Amber-orange with a thick creamy head. Despite a higher than average strength there’s little evidence of it in its flavours and has a high citric hoppy, tropical fruit aroma with plenty of tropical fruits in its taste. Good body.
