Commercial Description:
Launched in June 1997 to meet the demand for a lower gravity beer. The name allows the customer to call the beer by a name of his choice. Mid brown in colour, full of crystal malt and hop flavours, malty taste with a hint of malt and hops aromas. The mouth feel belies it’s strength. Supreme Champion Cornwall CAMRA Beer Fest, 2001.

Gravity, Rugby ’08. Pruney, white grapeskin aroma. Still honey amber with no head. Sticky raisiny fruit and grapeskin throughout, without being vinous. Apple juice sweetness. Fruity, thin and unusual.

Cask handpull at Market Porter, Borough. Chestnut colour with lasting beige head. Smooth caramel in mouth, caramel/hop aroma. Sweetish earthy caramel finish. Some dry earthy hop. Bit like a Camerons beer. Not my style, but the hops are good.

Yep, I got the pear/apple notes too. There’s a touch of caramel in the aroma too. Plenty of tangy hops on the palate. Quite dry. A pleasant session bitter. Attractive gingery copper colour. Cask, Battersea Beer Festival, February 2005.
