Quack-Duck (1825), Bodensee, Germany Sep 2, 2008 English beer #100
bottle, bought at Tucker’s Maltings. Slightly hazy brown colour, impressive and long-lasting head. Very fruity nose. Full-bodied with warming alcohol present from the first sip. Malty body with some fruit: orange, orange peel, orange marmalade, a shy hint of peach and mango perhaps. Towards the finish more and more hoppy, resulting in a citrusy hoppy-bitter and dry finish. Delicious. johndoughty (1660), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Mar 22, 2008 Bottle.Brown and slightly murky. Low carbonation with malts dominating.Left some sediment and was excellently bottled. Nice for a cold winters evening. dnas2 (524), Yelverton, Devon., Devon, England Dec 26, 2007 (Bottled, bottle conditioned). Red-brown, quite lively. Hoppy scent with some sweet malts. Very carbonated, bitter with a very dry end. Hops and winter berry fruit at the front of the mouth, then a sour malt aroma at the back. Sticky sweet aftertaste. Quite rich but quite good.
