COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summit Extra Pale Ale is not a beer brewed only for beer snobs. Just the opposite. It’s a beer for everyone to enjoy: construction workers, stock brokers, farmers, sales people, clerks, teachers, lawyers, doctors, even other brewers. Its light bronze color and distinctly hoppy flavor have made it a favorite in St. Paul, Minneapolis and the rest of the Upper Midwest ever since we first brewed it back in 1986.

Average yellow colour with almost no head. mustly citrus hops on the nose, pretty light though. It’s pretty mild, some bitter hops with a dry short finish.

Tasted at the 2012 St. Louis Centennial Beer Festival from bottles into sampler glass. Poured a clear, light golden color with very little hops, nice white foam, persistent with a little lace. Mild flowery aroma, whiffs of mild malt, bread, fruity ale yeast esters. Flavor was grainy, mildly caramelly, tart hops flavor. Light body, spritzy carbonation, nice dry mouthfeel. Refreshing bittersweet finish. A well-balanced, highly drinkable beer. More complex than I expected.

Clear dark golden with a small fluffy white head. Light citrus and cereal grain aroma and taste with a crisp finish.

January 27, 2012, bottle at Max Restaurant. Nice pour with big head, color seemed to be clear golden orange but it was dark. Not huge on taste but very well balanced, easy drinking.

What’s so extra about this ale? It’s a simple pale ale with less than average character.

Draft. Clear golden color, medium off white head, solid lacing. Aroma of subtle straw. Taste is similar, with moderate bitterness. Too plain.

On draft at republic. Copper pour with a moderate white head. Nice aroma with lots of citrus and pine note. A little bit of sweet caramelly malts. Nice bitter finish with moderate carbonation and body. Always a good choice at the bar. Most places in MN have this, so it often saves me from crappy beer.

nothing crazy here, nothing bad either. this is a strong, not flashy, american pale ale. solid.

Alright, this ia a fine example of what an "everyday beer" should be like... it isn’t hard hitting and overstrong with it’s taste, but it is just a good mix of hops, barley, malt. and water!
