What’s so extra about this ale? It’s a simple pale ale with less than average character.

12 ounce bottle. Light amber orange with a large foamy beige head. Light biscuit malt nose. Some grassy hops. Flavor has a smooth toasted maltiness with subtle bitter hops. Notes of light caramel and spicy hops are balanced nicely. This is a smooth and drinkable beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at bowling alley in Minot. Appearance: 1 finger off-white head, clear, straw color, good lacing. Aroma: biscuity malt, light floral, leaves. Palate: light body, average carbonation, light bitter finish, slight sticky texture. Taste: light sweet biscuity malt into light floral bitterness that lasts with light hop sweetness even. Overall, drinkable, but balance is not entirely there.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Thank you Sarah.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a glossy pale orange with a finger’s worth of a smooth white level head. As the head dissipated, stringy lacing stuck around the sides.
The smell had a cooked caramel aroma with a slight burnt pale citrus hops about it.
The taste was basically bitter with a side of caramel running about it in the background.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was mild but somewhat there. Overall, it’s an extra pale ale that fits the bill for the style and is okay to me.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden color. Minimal head and no lacing to speak of. Aromas of biscuit, citrus, & mild earthy hops.
Taste is toasted, earthy grains, stone fruits, and a mild hop presence. Light carbonation & body. Slightly sweet and dry with a mild bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mild aroma of hops and some hints of citrus. Nice light amber color, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet malt at first, nice and creamy. Hints of caramel in there. Citrus and grapefruit flavored hops next, with a mild bitterness that is even. Sweetness wins out however. Finish is on the bitter end, but light, with some hanging aftertaste. Medium mouth feel with average carbonation. Nice brew.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Gravity at GBBF 2014. Poured a hazy, deep golden colour, with a tiny halo of white head. Aroma of oranges, hay and mango, but overall rather light and flat. Grain in the flavour, with some straw and an astringent bitterness. Finish was tart fruit, flat malt and lingering Fuggle-esque hop notes.

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2014 12th August 2014
GBBF Day 1. Cask. Cascade version, presumably dry hopped. Almost clear gold beer, not much of a head. Palate is light and dry. Not much carbonation. Orange squash like hops with some sweet floralness. Trace of lemon. Light dry finish. A bit flat, but nice floral fruits.
14th August Day 3. Fuggles version. Caramel malts, light and bitter orange. Marmalade. Light hop spice. Dry finish.
