rayg1 (405), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA May 20, 2008 Had this at a bar called Cuzzy’s in Minneapolis. My first taste of the famed Minnesota local beer. I have to say that I think this one is a bit underrated. Came to me served in a pint glass with a small tan head on a light amber body. Aroma is lightly hoppy but also fairly sweet. This is a great example of a pale ale. Hops are not the complete focus, which is good because some pale ales tend to go that route. In fact, the first thing I noticed was the nice sweetness of the malts very doughy and a bit of caramel to set the whole thing off. Hops then come in almost as an afterthought to round out the whole experience. Pine and bitterness match well with the malt flavors. I found this to be very pleasing.
ilovedarkbeer (712), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 31, 2008 On tap at Trinity Hall. Pours a glowing orange color with a small creamy head. Nose is intense citrus and floral that is very fresh and sweet. Taste is smooth, medium bodied and packs a moderate bitter punch with a nice amount of dryness. Solid beer that is even better from the tap. blutt59 (679), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 28, 2008 on tap @ G-Man, golden color with slight haze, nose is citrus with small head, flavor is light slightly off citrus and pine with a watery finish DA (2419), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 8, 2008 OBF 2008. Pours gold with a smooth white head. Citrus hops up front in the nose, crisp and medium dry finish. Body was a bit thin, but this still wasn’t a bad, nice balance to it, good hopped up pale. bluemooner (77), Rogers, Minnesota, USA Jul 31, 2008 Pours a nice golden color with very thin head. Distinct, bitter taste of hops, but quite drinkable. A pretty good pale ale. CheersBabe (54), USA Jul 31, 2008 Typical APA regardless of "Extra" being thrown into the name. Very light in hops for a pale, and ends little watery. Overall I would give this an OK rating.
