COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summit Extra Pale Ale is not a beer brewed only for beer snobs. Just the opposite. It’s a beer for everyone to enjoy: construction workers, stock brokers, farmers, sales people, clerks, teachers, lawyers, doctors, even other brewers. Its light bronze color and distinctly hoppy flavor have made it a favorite in St. Paul, Minneapolis and the rest of the Upper Midwest ever since we first brewed it back in 1986.

Pours orange with a small off white head. Aroma is grass, caramel, pine and a hint of citrus. Light bitters into a sweet finish. Medium bodied, smooth mouth feel and easy to drink.

Tap. Pours lightly hazy orange with a medium, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is grain and cereal malt, citrus, pine, and resin hops. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness with supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Tap. Pours a slightly hazy dark copper body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is pretty light, more malt driven than then hop focused, which generally makes me sad for an APA. Fairly dry and toasty smelling. The flavor is much like the nose, very minimal bitterness, lots of toasty and dry husky maltiness. At least it’s not all sweet and caramel tasting. Finishes very lightly bitter with mostly husky and grainy maltiness. Lighter bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation. Lingering, almost dusty and grainy malt finish. This one is a pretty big fail in relation to the style for me. This maybe should be considered a hoppy amber ale.

Okay ipa beer....decent flavor. A good beer for local bars but don’t try this otherwise.

Bottle from Winter Sampler 12pk. Pours a cloudy amber, frothy off-white head, decent lacing. Some floral hops & citrus on the nose with a bready, caramel malt mixed in. Taste has a nice balance of floral hop bitterness & creamy caramel malt. Great everyday beer, better than their IPA. Solid effort. Could see myself buying a 12 of this stuff.

Hazy Orange Color with Good Head. Pine and lasting hop bitter aftertaste. Tasted fresh and live. Nice. Recommended.

Not a bad blend, but it’s a bit grassy for my taste. The bitterness lingers a bit after swallow.
