COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hidden in the cold ground in the dark of winter, lie little seeds of hope. So, to help hasten the spring thaw, we give you an ale bursting with the spicy goodness of malted rye and floral, citrusy hops. An in-between-seasons seasonal, if you will. Coming soon to a beer cooler or pub near you.

Pours a clear, dark amber to brown color with a 2 finger, creamy to soapy beige head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty notes and spicy, grainy rye right away, then nice caramel notes and spicy and citrus hops. Flavor is caramel, spicy rye and chocolate up front, some nutty notes, lingering grainy and spicy notes, citrus, pine and spicy hops to the finish. Medium body creamy feel throughout, but with an underlying hoppy acidic bite, medium, fairly blanketing carbonation. Good stuff overall, nice balance leaning towards the hops, but with a nice implementation of lots or rye character.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of rye, caramel, spice and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of rye, caramel, light spice and a hint of fruitiness with a crisp dry lingering rye finish.

Pours dark golden/chestnut, slight thin head, nice lacing. Aroma nutty, slight roast, fresh rye, slight caramel malt, no real hop aroma detected. Taste spicy rye up front, nutty and roast, caramel malt in background, slight earthy hops, a tiny bit of citrus detected as well. Mouthfeel on the thin side of medium body lowish carbonation, spicy bite, slightly dry finish. Overall good beer, interesting, but not enough to want to seek out.

[Bottle] Deep brown color with quickly receding light brown foam on top. Aroma is of sticky malts with a touch of rye spiciness. Taste includes rye, brown sugar, burnt caramel malts, earthy hops and light cocoa notes. Mildly astringent. Medium bodied. Not bad.

From a bottle this is a big dark looking thing, a little darker it could be a black ipa. Taste is big nasty nellie hop and rye bullshit taste bud smasher. Are you sure this is 5.8%, seems like a lot more. i think it makes me a little dizzy with the big gulps or is that just the IPA attitude smacking me in the back of the head? Long bitter, ruin my taset bud numbness for an hour. wew Can’t appreciate these beers that are so IPA. The next ubiquitous beer, IPA and IPA wannah beez.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a big, dense creamy beige head. Roma has obvious notes of rye, along with caramel malt and citrus hops. Upfront flavor is all malt with more obvious rye and bittersweet roasted caramel. Spicy citrus hops emerge in the mid taste, along with notes of nuts and mustard seed. Complex and flavorful with a medium body. Finish is dry and chewy.

A great rye beer. Pours a gorgeous maroon with nice lacing and creamy off white head. Nice toasted rye aromas. Soapy and herbal too. Flavors are vegetal hops, rye toast, and bitter green hops at the end. Great brew.

12oz bottle (Binny’s Downers Grove Mix A Six)-40° in Shaker-Pours a dark amber almost brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of rye, hops, and malt. Taste of the same with more hops on the back end. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty.
