3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown with an orange tint. Large tan creamy head, mostly lasting and leaving great lacing. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, and a bit of wet hay. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, nice coffee bitterness lingering through the finish. Full bodied for a porter. An old favorite of mine that i am pleasantly surprised that i still enjoy.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark brown with some reddish tints. Huge head that lasts for quite awhile; decent lacing. Aroma very underwhelming - some chocolate notes, but some earthy, dirty elements as well. Flavor - faint chocolate at first, then some bitterness. Somewhat thin-bodied for the style. Okay - was expecting better.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The beer pours a dark brown color with a tan head. The aroma is full of chocolate and roasted malt, with a hint of sweetness. The flavor is very nice. I get some bitter chocolate notes, as well as a hint of chocolate and some roasted malt. The beer is fairly sweet, with some brown sugar notes coming through in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice porter.

Easily one of Summit’s best full time offerings. Not too thick, but packs a flavor punch characterized by strong coffee and chocolate aroma and flavor.
