Summit Porter is very dark, but lighter-bodied than you’d expect, with a robust, malty character and a delightfully sweet finish.

Poured into Sam Adams Sensory Glass. No freshness date on bottle. Color is a deep copper brown. Pours a half inch of light tan foam. Head doesn’t last very long, but leaves some thin lacing. Smell is of over roasted malts and dark coffee. Very slight hops are present. The first thing I noticed about the taste was how hoppy it was. I immediately tasted earthy hops, as well as roasted chocolately malts. Mouthfeel is slightly bitter, but them gets very smooth and goes down easy. There is no alcohol even present in this beer. Overall, this is an easy to drink porter. I was not expecting the high taste of hops in this beer as it had, but I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend. 12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a dark brown to black color and a light beige head of foam. Fairly malt forward with some milk chocolate character. The taste is moderately sweet and creamy, with a touch of roast sneaking in. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Deep walnut hue with tan head. Rich roasted aroma. Toffee and slight coffee notes with herbal hop finish. Enjoy the mouth feel as it has a velvet richness with medium carbonation. This is very well balanced.

12oz bottle from Andersons on Bent Tree. Brown pour with amber tint. Aroma of chocolate, rotated malt, light smoke. Tastes are relatively sweet with cocoa, coffee, earthy. Palate is on the thin side. Bit of a metallic vibe.

Bottle. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with some dry dark grains and bitter chocolate. Flavor has a combination of dark grains and chocolate with a bit of dryness from roast underlying.

The description is perfect for this one- sweet, malty finish with deep malty roasty flavor throughout. Nice flavor and light, carbonated body to keep things sessionable. Good brew.

12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Williston. Appearance: finger brown head, dark brown color, clear, good lacing. Aroma: chocolate, roast grain, light molasses, light grassy hops. Palate: full body, average carbonation, bitter finish, oily and sticky texture. Taste: sweet roasted malt, light chocolate, into moderate grassy bitterness (in contrast to sweet malt front at least). Overall, aroma is good, but bitterness is out of hand for the style, not a good balance in my opinion. Not too pleasant.

12 oz bottle poured into a pilsener glass. Pours a very dark color, almost black. Creamy tan head with moderate lacing. Sweet, malty odor. Initial taste is nicely balanced hop bitterness with malts, then the smoky, roasted flavor comes to the fore. This smoky taste remains the dominate character of this beer. Nice body, but not really thick. Smooth and creamy. The aftertaste is bitter, but not overbearing. I like this beer.
