COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summit Hefe Weizen is brewed with a high percentage of malted wheat, then a small amount of authentic German weizen yeast is left behind to help maintain its brewery freshness. And that’s what accounts for Hefe Weizen’s unique cloudy appearance.

Tap - Groveland Tap. Hazy yellow color with a minimal head. Flavor is dry wheat, a bit of banana, clove, and a hint of citrus. Medium bodied. Pretty solid wheat, one of the better Midwest common availability versions.

Overall a decent beer. Pours with a nice head which diminishes. Beer is very turbid and a golden banana yellow. Aroma is very citrus and clove smelling. Flavors of lemon, cloves and a slight banana taste shin through but kinda missing a bit at the end of the flavors.

Pours a very hazy/cloudy honey yellow. Very little head---close to none actually. What is there is white and quickly dissipates. Aroma is of what and lemon zest with hints of sweet spice (cloves). Flavor is wheat/bready/ grain with definite citrus notes---especially lemon.

Pours a typical cloudy yellow with a medium frothy head. Typical Hefe Weizen nose, grain and sour malt with a hint of herb. Flavor is right on the money! Sweet and sour with that huge wheat flavor. A little bit of a wine and citrus. This is one very drinkable beer. (On a side note, I sample all beer by the bottle or glass. I don’t spit any out and no mater how bad the beer is I drink it all. So Im giving this beer an extra point based just on the fact that I wanted another one or four.)

Bottle. Strong banana/clove aroma. Cloudy pale yellow color with small head. Initial sweet banana, clove and wheat malt flavor with a lemon peel dry finish. A very solid Hefe - very nice.

On tap at the Daily Bar and Grill. Pours a hazy orange with a tall head. Lemon citrus and banana aroma. Creamy smooth with similar flavors. Decent.

12 oz bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City. Poured a slightly hazy golden-yellow color. Head was thick and white with decent retention. There was a bit of lace on the glass at the end. Aroma was cove dominated with a notes of bubblegum and cereal grain in the background. Dry on the tongue with subdued acidity. Tasted of tart banana, apricot, and cereal grain. Unfortunately there was also an occasional rubbery note.
