COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This traditional English style was originally brewed with extra hops to help it survive the voyage to India. Our IPA is enlightened by spicy herbal hops with a hint of caramel malt sweetness.

12-oz bottle. Had this at a friendís house. Not terrible, but Iíve definitely had a better IPA. Seemed rather thin overall, the bitterness allowed little else to surface. One could do worse.

I think the bitterness should be dialed up a notch to match the maltiness. I agree on a different reviewer on the opinion that the beer is like a one-note song. Itís a decent beer but nothing is really making it shine. It should be noted that the current IBU that Summit says this beer stands at is 61, not 70.

Not a classic hop fresh nose you expect in a IPA. Taste is slight sweet citrus, thicker malt base than most in the style, some bitterness on the back. Maybe the non IPA fan would like this, those that are big IPA drinkers will be underwhelmed. Easy drinking enough though nothing poor.

Tap at Betty Dangerís. Pint glass. Typical Summit appearance which starts a trend toward a typical Summit beer. Hops on the nose. Golden color with some effervescence. Lacing is trying but not strong. Bitterness prevails throughout consumption. Itís like a one note song. The note is pretty good just not much else going on. Almost wish there was a citrus or typical element but I realize thatís not what this beer is meant to be. Resin aftertaste. A welcome complement to the Summit stable of hop centric offerings.

Tap at betty dangers. Pint glass with commonmac. Copper with very small flat head. Slightly sweet nose. Sweet grain hop , then mild pine bitterness. Finish is not that dry. Less bitter and dry than other Summitt beer. True to a brit ipa I suppose.

Sampled at esbls. Clear honey golden with just a little foam. Bitter fruit with some herbal notes. A bit of spice. I do get some English influences here. Malts are really soft. Ok.

A littler drier than their other hoppy beers I have had. Sweet backbone with some malts at the finish. A little spice, not too much.

From the file last updated in 2010. As Summit IPA. Pours amber gold. Aroma is herb/veg. Flavor is lightly spicy and lightly malty.

12oz bottle pours a clear orange/golden with a large off white head. Aroma of soapy hops and English malt. Simple citrus orange hop flavor light malt. Drinkable.

Bottle poured to snifter. Part of winter variety pack. Aroma is half of what I expected. A cloudy amber color with a mild head that is white and clings loosely to the glass. There is just a bit more malt in this than I think it needed. The hops dominate what is left with very mild tones of citrus and bread. The malt skews my palate. I doubt it will last that long.
