COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early German monks created “bock” beer as a hearty beverage that would help sustain them during their Lenten fasts. The first bock beers were dark, but soon came “blonder” styles such as maibock. Maibocks have a rich, malty, full flavor. And, since our first brewhouse was from Heimertingen in Bavaria, we’ve honored that heritage by giving the name to our first lager beer.“Bock,” by the way, is German for “male goat.” It doesn’t make sense to us either.

Pours clear orange/red with white head, aroma of grain and cereal, touch of pine and spice. Taste is pine, spice, some bread, caramel, and grain, finishing slightly bitter. Not bad, flavors are a bit muddled.

Doesn’t have a hearty taste. It lacks the right amount of hops and malty flavor. Disappointed in this Summit drink

Tastes similar to the Extra Pale Ale, pale malt dominates, just don’t care for pale malt in what would otherwise be a darker, maltier beer.

Cereal, nutty aroma. Squat US micro bottle with a twist-off cap. Good cap, boring label, slightly hazy oaken gold, smallish head. Slightly toasted and woody lager. A bit over-brewed tasting. Hops become prominent towards the end. Reminds me a bit of some Abita offerings. ABC Liquors, Kerry Forest Parkway.

Poured into a pint glass. Pours a nice off white head that laces slightly. The color was light golden. Smells like a typical bock, nothing to appealing to me. Bready and carmel aromas. Taste is kind of malty, kind of skunky. Not something I enjoyed. Mouthfeel was a little crisp. leaves a dry flavor in your mouth. Overall, this is one of the only summits I haven’t liked. I don’t prefer bocks to much, but I really didn’t like this at all. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-04-2008 00:28:44

Tap at the Flying Saucer Austin. Clear and yellow-orange, with a foamy white head. The nose is light caramel, sweet, a little grainy or bready. Flavor is predominantly sweet and, again, bready/grainy, maybe a little spicy. Very drinkable and smooth - a nice clean beer.

Pours a bold golden color with hefty white head. Sweet malt aroma. Taste - lots of malt but well balanced. Notes of caramel, bread, and citrusy hops. Medium body with a bit of an oily mouthfeel. Well rounded enjoyable beer.

Pours well with a frothy head. Not a favorite style of mine but Summit has a way of putting a twist on a beer so that everybody can enjoy it. Its sweet with a subtle spicy flavor to it. Not bad overall.
