Pours basically black with hints or deep ruby when held up to the light. The beer has a very thick tan head and as such displays very good lace. The aroma is boozy, boozy like cheap vodka and coffee. Honestly, through the first half of my glass all I could think about was how much it smelled like an over vodka-ed White Russian. As the beer warmed the coffee and light roastiness shined through without much bad vodka character. The beer was on tap and it was pretty cold, maybe it was a temperature issue... hopefully so. The flavor is much nicer. I’d say this fits better into the dry stout category, in fact in many ways the flavor reminded me quite a bit of an Irish Stout, mellow but nicely roasty. Bitter from both hops and dark chocolate character. Mild coffee notes show themselves throughout. The palate is a tad watery but it’s no Guinness, this seems light bodied but lively enough to drink quite a lot of.

Drank at MSP airport while our flight was delayed. Black with thick brown head. Taste was big roasted malt much like you expect from a stout. Thick and chewy texture. Velvety smooth texture. Very good.

On tap, Blue Door Pub, St Paul MN. Aroma has notes of chocolate, oat, coffee and caramel. Extremely creamy and thick, notes of chocolate, roast, oat and coffee finishes nice and roasted, touch of bitter. Tasty brew!

Draft at Global Brew. This beer has a thick light tan head and looks much like a Guiness. It is a nitrogen infused beer and is, indeed much like Guiness. Flavor and are muted. Some hops are noted in the nose but just barely in the aroma. A bit of cocoa and light of roasted notes with some soft spice. Despite the muting this is a nice beer and is one a person could spend an evening with.

Draft at Global Brew Tap House in Edwardsville. Served in a Maudite glass. Pours a dark, opaque brown with a huge, foamy, even tan head that takes a while to settle. Aroma takes a while to get going, but has notes of dry roasted malts, dark chocolate, oats, and coffee. Flavor follows suit, with a lot of dryness throughout and not a lot of sweetness. I’d easily mistake this for a dry stout. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, roasty mouthfeel. Pretty good beer, even if not quite a sweet stout.

Dark brown, nearly black pour with a khaki colored head. Aroma of roasted malts and some sweetness. Lots of coffee flavor - quite smooth. Mouthfeel is a bit watered down for the style. A decent brew, especially for Summit.

Draft at Capone’s with Pat. Pours a pitch black with thick creamy head. Nice roasted coffee aroma. Taste is very milky, accentuated with roasted malt. The oats are forefront in the taste, making it chewy and slightly more viscous. Finishes quick and is very drinkable.

Draught at Capone’s: Faint aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, cream, oats, and a hint of coffee. Poured very dark amber/dark brown/slight ruby in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, thick, brown head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling (NITRO) carbonation. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of chocolate, roasted malt, cream, oats, slight roasted barley, and light caramel. Medium body. Slick, creamy, then dry texture. NITRO carbonation. Roasted malt, chocolate, cream, oat, and slight caramel finish is very dry.

Draft. On tap at Town Hall Tap on nitro. Super dark brown color, almost black, with a tiny bubbled tan head. Roasted malted, coffee, and dark chocolate notes in the nose. Nice lace on the glass. Smooth, velvety medium mouthfeel, mmmm only nitro can be this smooth. Very smooth flavor, roast coffee and dark chocolate notes with an overall nice rounded out flavor. Tasty. Ends fairly dry.

On tap at Stub and Herbs. Pour is dark brown which settles like guiness and has big tan head that is thick and hearty. Aroma malt faint coco and cereal. Taste is malty with faint coffee and creamy. Palate full yet thin and slick and finishes dry.
