3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nitro pour at Barcade. Deep garnet tinted brown beer with a huge creamy tan head. Very thick and persistent head. Rich sweet aroma with lots of milk chocolate and toasted malt. There is a touch of soft char but that is quite subdued. Flavour is quite lovely. Soft cocoa and milk chocolate and a little bit of slick creamy character. Flavour also has a kiss of herbal character and a light fruitiness. Itís got a very creamy texture and a nice sweet maltiness without being heavy or cloying. A nice almost noble spiciness on the back that works surprisingly well. Very quaffable stout. I really enjoyed this.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nitro at barcade - I agree with andy - this beer was very good - very creamy, and quite full in the mouth for the style - a ton of vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough, and a slight nuttiness - some espresso bitterness on the back end to temper the sweetness - I plowed through my pint of this.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Nitro tap at Barcade. At first this wasnít doing it for me, but the more I drank it the more it grew on me. Nice toasty, roasty aroma, with notes of cookie and chocolate chip. Delicious flavor, perfectly chocolatey and dry. Supremely chuggable. Best beer Iíve had in a while, the kind of beer that made me want to put down the pen and stop ticking for the night. I didnít, of course, but I should have. This beer was awesome, second to only Dieu du Cielís Aphrodisiaque in the Dry Stout style.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nitro at Barcade. Pours a nice deep dark almsot black with a creamy orangey yellow beige head. Aroma is nice light coffee, dark roasted barley and chocolate malts with a nice subdued caramel sweetness and a bit of a lactic sugary sweetness as well. Good roast and chocoalte flavor with hints of molasses and licorice, with a toffee nuttiness as it dries towards the end of the palate- finsihes with a light milk sugar lacto sweetness. Pretty good.

On tap Groveland Tap St Paul MN. Pours a deep black/brown with hints of red. Espresso foamy head, lingering minimal lacing. Flavor is solid. Dry dark malt, oatmeal, a bit of molasses. Light bodied. Finish is diminishing. This is pretty damn good.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
2008 Tap. This is an excellent Oatmeal Stout, perhaps the best I’ve ever had. Deep, dark chocolate color with a resiliant, beautiful cream-colored head. This head lasted ’til the end of the glass, which I nursed. Smells of chocolate, maybe a little fruit, and coffee. Tastes of dark, roasted malts and brown sugar with a light alcohol aftertaste. All the flavors work beautifully together, making this ultra-quaffable and fun to drink. Enjoy!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. This beer really impressed me, definitely my favorite Summit. Nice dark brown pour, with a solid tan head. Aroma is standard roasty/oatmeal. The flavor is full of chocolate, oatmeal and molasses, along with a nice, bitter burnt malt character. The mouthfeel is probably about a 3.5, but not quite a 4...quite good though. Very tasty beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Served on tap at Whistle Binkyís in Rochester, MN. Black with a khaki head. Thin lace. Roasted, latte taste with a semi sweet dry finish. I expected a hoppier note from summit. This beer is not to complex but is fair drinking with an Irish stew.
