While it may resemble a popular Irish Stout, our Oatmeal Stout is quite different. Most notably it's sweeter. Chocolate, coffee and caramel flavors round out this smooth, full-bodied beer.

Tap at the G Man. Very thick dark brown to black hue. Soft tan head. Lots of roasted malts on the nose. Some caramel and bitter notes. Very little chocolate; was hoping for more. Flavors of roasted coffee ground, dark chocolate and bitter black malts are sent my way. Finishes with tons of coffee. Slick feel, easy finish. Very well done.

(nitro draught at Plano gingerman) opaque very dark brown with a creamy thick tight head. Nose is hard to smell through the nitro head but there is cream, nuts and coffee. Taste of oats, cream, Raisins, light bodied coffee, nuts, and fudge. Medium Thinnish body with a very creamy finish.

Draught > Gingerman. First off, the palate on this sucker is great. Creamy, thick and a little dry. This taste just what an oatmeal stout should taste like. Roasty and dry and little bitter coffee flavors but not so much that the oat flavor is covered up. Solid.

(Cask) Pours a dark brown (near black) body with a medium creamy beige head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, nuts, oatmeal, grass, and earth. Flavor of earth, oatmeal, raisins, light coffee, caramel, and some cocoa.

Smells delicious, but the flavor doesn’t quite hold up to it’s aromatic expectations. Pretty dense deep dark silky black color with a fine off white head. Chocolate-roasted malt aroma. Flavor isnice and tasty, not overly malty or rich. Reminiscent of an Irish Stout, yes, but made quite nice with the chocolate and touch of coffe. Not over-Oated like other oatmeal stouts... A great balance and nice recipe. Smooth mouthfeel, and the same while going down the hatch. Slight bitter in the finish, but joined by a light sweetness. Nice job!

On tap. Pours a dark black brown color with a big creamy head. (Nitro pour I believe) Nose is nice mocha chocolate with a little bit of esters in the background. Taste is metallic milk chocolate and dust. Mouthfeel is smooth yet thin.

Nitro Tap. Pours with a black body and a milk like tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fudge, vanilla and a ton of esters for a stout like this. Taste is oatmeal, leather, chocolate, more esters and some bitter roast. Creamy nitro mouthfeel. Best beer that I have had from Summit!

Pours a thick black to go along with a small tan/beige head. Smells or oats, chocolate, and coffee. The taste was dominated by the coffee, but you also find chocolate and oats in their as well. Very warming finish to this one. Enjoyable!
