2.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I am not a huge stout fan, but on a cold Winter day this is a good beer. I do prefer a sweeter stout, The creamy coffee flavor was nice.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Maybe this is on nitrogen. The pour is thin, burgundy shaded black with a raft of thick cream atop it. Aroma is lightly pruney with a bit of black olive (or something like it). Chocolate and a mild coffee flavor coated with aluminum. This is a flighty brew that really loses its life after just a little while.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A slow pour, nice and black, with a good couple inches of very creamy off white foam. Very good lacing throughout the pint. Very mild coffee in the aroma - no big deal. I expected more. Tasty beer, with roasted coffee and some bittersweet chocolate. A little hop tang right at the finish line. Smooth and creamy texture. Very nice beer that I finally got around to reviewing.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Barleys. Dark brown color with a small tan head. Aroma of roast and coffee. Flavors of roast, coffee, oats and a little chocolate. A little thin for a stout, but it was pretty drinkable.

Enjoyed a pint of this creamy stout at Mad Mex yesterday. I would suggest this to newer beer drinkers or newer stout converts. It lies in the low to mid range of flavor complexity for stouts. I did enjoy this beer for the unexpected chocolate and coffee flavors but I thought it could have had more of that favor.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Drank a Pint of this yesterday at Barleyís Alehouse #1 then forgot to rate it - Pours dark brown with a short tan head that stayed only a short time then faded without much lace. Aromas of cocoa, and maybe a little roast. Flavor was of chocolate, coffee, and a touch of oats. Some roasted notes as well but not very robust at all. Pretty subtle all around. Palate was somewhat on the fizzy side for an oatmeal stout in my opinion too. Very underwhelming..

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was the first beer of the night at Winterfest. There is only one place I can remember that serves this beer in the Twin CIties, that Iíve visited. Iíve never seen it in a bottle. Rich chocolate and oatmeal aroma. Creamy cocoa colored head. Dark coffee roast and oatmeal, along with some caramel malts. Maybe a hint of vanilla as well. Well done beer by the boys at Summit. Unfortunately all of their other offerings Iíve sampled and rated, and thusly I didnít spend any further time at their booth this night.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draft. Large tan head on top of a very dark brown brew. The aroma was really faint. The flavor was pretty watered down for a stout. A hint of bakerís chocolate, a bit of coffee, but not too much. Pretty underwhelming for a stout

3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Large creamy off-white head with great lacing coupled with a near black color makes for a great looking beer. Tastes included coffee, smoke, and chocolate.

A nice looking beer. Rich in color and taste. It actually tastes a bit like coffee.
