COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While it may resemble a popular Irish Stout, our Oatmeal Stout is quite different. Most notably it's sweeter. Chocolate, coffee and caramel flavors round out this smooth, full-bodied beer.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2015 Tasted on nitro tap at Seamus O’Daniels in Dogtown, seated at the bar next to the Irish flags, union stickers, and toughs complaining about today’s bathroom drywall jobs. It poured opaque black, that is, after the cascading tan foam settled back into fluid, with a persistent head and lots of lace. Nondescript grainbill, no real malt complexity. I didn’t get much chocolate, coffee, caramel, bread, toast, toffee, dark fruit, roasted barley, etc. Sufficient bitterness but lacked hop flavours/aromas too. Sweeter than Guinness, with less metallic bite, but not very malty-sweet in its own right. Nice full body with smooth and creamy mouthfeel from so much oatmeal. It’s obviously all about the nitro presentation; not bottled, only served on tap at logical Irish-themed bars, etc. Good, no glaring faults, but not the greatest overall.

DRAFT at Flying Saucer in Little Rock. Almost black with thin tan head. Nose is sweet with hints of coffee and chocolate. Taste in very similar. A definite session stout....excellent.

Nitro draft at Khyber Pass. Opaque pour with a large foamy khaki head. Tastes generally smooth with a bit of extra caramel funk at the very end. Some leather and charcoal. Sweetens but nerfs a bit. Oddish notes popping up in between the solid standard stout notes. Maybe a window shutter is off key (whatever that means.) Not bad but NOT perfect.

This beer pours an opaque black with a light tan nitro head that leaves rings on the glass. The aroma blends roasted malts and oatmeal, and the taste is slightly bitter and mildly sweet with a long-lasting malty aftertaste. The palate has a thick texture, medium body, and a soft carbonation typical in a nitro beer.

Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Tremendous lacing, this is world class head...errr yea. Aroma of roasted barley, slight coffee, slight chocolate. Taste is the same. Nice and dry. Medium full body and super creamy. Oatmeal at its best. Don’t bottle this. Ever. Tap only....preferably nitro....awesome.
