On nitro: exquisite pour - black w/ a perfect tan head that leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is subtle w/ some hints of a roasted undertone. The taste is mildly roasty but very smooth! Outstanding mouthfeel & a good stout for this 90 degree day! Pretty darn good!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark black pour at Stouts. Not sure why its taken me so long to rate this, considering its one of the most popular Summit beers (a local ice cream company makes a Summit Oatmeal Stout ice cream!). Tan head. Coffee and burnt chocolate nose. Slightly sweet tasting, lots of nice roasted things happening in the flavor (coffee, caramel, chocolate). Pretty decent.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at a Hilton near MSP, pours black with a thick tan head, looking like a Guinness. Kinda chocolatey carbonated aroma, but nothing very strong. Taste is very chocolate, wants to be heavy but the nitro tap keeps it fluffy, like mousse. Chocolate dominates, but is not an overwhelming flavor. Some light roasted malty bitterness at the very end, but otherwise very smooth throughout. A pretty good beer here

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Blue Door Pub. Deep brown with a big tan head, probably on nitro. Oatmeal, earthy hop, mineral water, and milk aromas. Flavor is lightly bitter all the way through. Body is heavier with a creamy feel. Very tasty, wish Summit would bottle.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Second day at GBBF 2013, devoted to mainly US ales. One-third pint of this one from gravicask dispense. Named Summit Brewing Vanilla Mocha Oatmeal Stout, 4.7 % abv. Spotty lacing, not much head, dark brown body colour. Earth and chocolate malts on the nose. Flavours of vanilla sweetness offset by dusty hops and mild coffee grounds. Malty, bittersweet tail. Velvety in the mouth. Fine bodied and tasty. (Backlog from London Olympia 14.08.2013).
