3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice and clean. Good mouthfeel with a pleasant aftertaste. Nicely balanced for the most part, if a tad lacking in hops presence. Overall, a solid effort worth trying.

I was disappointed in this -- slightly bitter and overcarbonated. Wasted my $6 on a six pack of this.

After a whole summer of drinking Pilsner Urquel, I was looking forward to trying this one. Summit is normally quite good. I found this very disappointing, the worst of the summit beers. It had the right aroma and color, but just didn’t taste right. Bummer.
PS: Since writing this, I’ve had a couple in bottles and they were quite good. I suspect I had some beer from a dirty tap. Not a huge surprise considering it was at a popular sports bar.

For Summit this stuff is not too bad. Much better than the pale ale, but if you are going to drink something from the Cities, try Grainbelt. Summit’s got some issues.

Bottle. A very welcome addition to the Summit family of beers. A good representation of the style.

I’m not a big Pilsner fan, but I was somewhat disapointed with this anyways. Pilsners tend to be very blah and this suffers from Pilsner syndrome somewhat. I wouldn’t recommend this one after trying a six pack.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2003 Saaz aroma, creamy head with some stick (in Urquell glass at least); some bitterness and malt aftertaste; finishing appetizingly dry.

Not really a boho pils, but a bit more robust than a north German pils. Maybe its an Export? Well made, light and refreshing. Smooth malt and moderate bitterness. Horace is doing a fine job making Summit into a Lager brewery.

A good well-crafted crisp pilsener. I was very pleasantly surprized by this one.
