We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

Bright light amber color with lasting white head. Spicy, fruity, dank hop aromas with dry grass. medium body, average carbonation. Spicy, citrusy hop flavors with a dusty pale malt base--nicely drying bitter finish----good

Nice copper and amber coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, earthy malt, a light sweetness and a bit of fruit. Medium-bodied; Strong hoppy flavours of herbs, flowers and a touch of grass with a good malt backbone, some light caramel flavours and a smooth sweet finish. Aftertaste shows mainly hop bitterness from the herbal hops, but not overwhelming, plus matched well with malt and sweetness. Overall, a very nice IPA - better than I was expecting, and worth trying if you stumble upon it. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 02-August-2013 for US$1.79 sampled in Woodhaven, Michigan on 03-August-2013.

Really solid IPA - nice tongue, nice taste, and nice texture. Nothing extraordinary, but almost exactly what comes to mind when I think "IPA". ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

My new favorite and a steal at $6.99 a six pack. Aroma is of tropical fruit and floral citrus notes. Taste is very floral with clean crisp citrus notes. Very bright and carbonated. Dangerously drinkable.

Grassy aroma. Slight mango aroma with some passion fruit. Slightly dank. Full mouth. Copper is present. Biting carbonation. Long bitter finish. A little too hoppy for my liking.

An unexpectedly solid offering from summit. Creamy mouthfeel and distinct but understated tropical hop bite, im mostly getting grapefruit and kiwi. A steal for the price...

Had it on tap at Ward 6 in St Paul Mn. Poured a clear amber hue, with a floral citrus aroma, with a good head and uneven lacing. Hop citrus flavor.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2013 On tap at Hangar 45 in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, served in a huge 25 ounce mug. The biggest beer I’ve had in awhile! Not much head on this serving. Pretty much all beer, all the way to the top.

Served ice cold, but that’s a good thing, as it takes a while to get through a beer that size.

I see IBUs listed as 80, which is by some measures the baseline for a very "hoppy" beer. This is certainly the case here. Hops are way up front here, balanced with just enough malt to take the edge off the bitterness. The flavours of both hops and malts are bold and assertive, and overall this beer is very well balanced. Very nice indeed!
