COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

Draft sample. Clear gold in colour with medium carbonation. Concentrated aromas of orange, pink and white grapefruit, something vaguely tropical, and a hint of pale malt. Flavors are of crispy pale malt, and a whole lot of C-hops, and exotic spice. Light bodied for the style, but very clean with a bitterness that is both hoppy and mineral like. Not for fans of really dank or pine sappy IPAs, but fans of cleaner and super drinkable ones should love this.

Draft at Fermentation. Golden pur with a frothy white head. Nose is citrusy and pine like hops with some sweet malt backbone. Flavor is similar with some more tropical fruitiness and spice. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle poured a clear golden amber with a lasting off white head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, skunk bud, grapefruit, mango and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, mango, earthiness, grapefruit, light skunk bud and light pine with a crisp dry bitter lingeing finish.

Tap at Holiday Inn Bloomington, a lighter colored but full of taste and hoppy goodness, anything with citra is a win in my book and this one has got it.. good stuff.

First impression is the fantastic, crisp aroma coming from great hop profile. Clean and refreshing. Pours a nice bready color with one finger head that quickly dissipates. Very nice looking brew that looks inviting and refreshing. Absolutely wonderful taste, with smooth and simple malt profile (simple in a great way) that is perfectly complimented by what I can only call a smooth bitterness. Finishes clean and somewhat dry. Doesn’t leave you puckered and I was left wanting another. Great all around beer. In my opinion, the best beer Summit has made. Love it!

Amber-gold colored, slightly hazy, with a moderate head when poured. The aroma shows grapefruit, mango, light caramel, and a metallic scent that distracts from an otherwise pleasant aroma. No metallic flavors; just a solid tasting IPA. The major thing going on here is a tropical fruit hop profile with a light but sturdy malty body. There’s a little sticky pine too. Dry and bitter in the finish but nothing extreme. It probably needs to be more aggressively hopped to get a higher rating than this but overall I found it to be a good IPA.

12oz bottle poured into glass. Nice hoppy floral aroma with slight hints of grapefruit. Light in body and somewhat light in flavor but still has that nice drinkablitly I love in certain IPA’s.

Bottle. Pour is a slightly hazy orange with a small diminishing white head with nice lacing. Aroma is clearly of hops with a touch of citrus. Flavor is crisp mineral water, fresh hops, and grapefruit citrus fruit. Theres some malt in there to try to balance things out some, but it doesnt mask the crisp hop profile. Light bodied and softly carbonated. Nice clean, bitter finish. I really enjoyed these.
