We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

The aroma is wonderful and powerful with a strong hop scent that will even leave the bottle cap smelling good. The beer retains a nice head when poured into a pint glass. The hop character is wonderful and is unsurprisingly the stable of this IPA. A medium body and a lingering bitter, hoppy taste leaves a pleasant finish to this beer. I can’t lie. This is my favorite beer and has been for a while now. Whenever I get a gift from someone it is more often than not this beer. Wonderful on tap, but just as good poured into a pint glass from a bottle or can. Summit really hit the mark with this one.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2014 As a Minnesotan, Summit is a staple in the craft beer scene. This is by far my favorite offering. A nice west coast ipa. Piney, fruity, hoppy! Very drinkable.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2014 As a Minnesotan eh I love Summit brewery. This is their stake on the popular (and delicious) west coast IPA. Lots of great citrus smell and taste up front, not very dry on the back of your mouth but very drinkable. Not my go to when I’m looking for a west coast IPA but always welcome in my mouth and belly.

Amber color, relatively heavy carbonation for the style. White to slightly off-white head with foam clinging to the glass. Subtle aroma hints of citrus or pine. Initial taste is nicely balanced malts and hops. Relatively thick moth feel. This transitions to a piney aftertaste that lingers quite awhile. Very good IPA.

Bomber @ bnielsen13. Pours a very hazy, bright orange appearance with an off white head. Tropical fruit, mango, spicy hops, light toast in the nose. Moderate high sweetness and bitterness. A little thick mouth feel. Some caramel and pineapple and citrus. A little old bottle but fine.

Bottle from Steve, thanks man! Golden amber pour with a nice finger of frothy white head. Aroma is citrus, skunk, and a bit of floral hops. Taste is, light citrus up front, followed by some subtle sweetness, and then into a nice punch of bitterness, finish is dry with a some lingering bitterness. Very crisp and refreshing, nice one.

Old bottle, 4 months past "enjoy by." Medium resinous aroma, heavy scent, little citrus. Dark gold and cloudy, white thin lasting head. Full bodied IPA, slowly developing flavour, malty taste forward with a small hop acidity and bitterness in the end, very long lasting aftertaste. Missing some hop punch in the front, probably from the age of the bottle. Good for cold weather, a hearty IPA as opposed to a refreshing one. Pretty good.

Bottle pours clear orange with thick fluffy white head. Very pleasant aroma of citrus and light fruits. Taste matches aroma with a sweet malty backbone as well. Finish moderately bitter hops. Quite a nice IPA.

UPDATED: DEC 9, 2014 Smells of citrus and floral notes. Pours a golden orange, with a white head that lingers. Flavorful with summit signature hints of grass, earthiness and hops.
