3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Aurelius (3443) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Misty, maple gold brew, carpeting white head. Squat, west coast 12 oz bottle - I like the embossed logo, good cap. Hoppy nose with an indistinct fruitiness - although after reading the commercial description, I did get the apricot - and a little clean sweat. If you hold your breath and sip, you get a very fruity sweetness. Sturdy bitterness on the back and sides of the tongue. Medium body, crisp mouthfeel, grapefruit pith finish. Very nice. ABC, Betton.

Nice IPA. Sort of generic, but well executed. It’s got a great hop aroma and flavor, not as bitter as I want, but I like it really bitter. It’s a good IPA, one that I would definitely buy a sixer of.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (4610) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 8, 2013
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits (Betton) - 12 oz bottle. Slightly sparkling medium golden pour, slightly thinnish with sticky white head that leaves bubbly lacing. Aroma has some light spruce notes, a bit of mango-like fruitiness. Flavor is refreshing with some light bittersweet citrus notes, some spearmint accents, and a touch of green tea. Mouthfeel is more thin than thick. Better than expected.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tmoreau (1625) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAR 8, 2013
12 oz. bottle carefully poured to my 1/2 pint sampler so as not to rouse too much of the layer of sediment on the bottom. Still displayed a hazed, orange/golden hue, with good persistence to the off white, frothy, bubbles & cream head, and lasting cling to the tight rings & spots of lacing. The aroma was expressive grapefruit & orange, with touches of tropical fruit & pine. Medium+ bodied, the flavor added potent & very lingering, earthy, citrusy, & rind-like hop bitterness, light graininess, but good malt support. Maybe presented just a touch of malt sweetness, but was mainly crisp & dry, and finished the same, with the hop bitterness remaining on the palate well past the finale. A very hoppy and hearty IPA.

Draft at Jerry’s. Golden-orange with big, foamy white head, silky legs / Bright nose of citrus, tropical fruit, coconut, pine, and cream / Medium to full body, subdued fruit, good biting hops, somewhat astringent, and bitter finish / Muted flavors of orange peel, cut pine, grapefruit, and soap / Very nice.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 benfergy (178) - Valley City, North Dakota, USA - FEB 24, 2013
Appears as an orange/brown beer; the aroma has floral hops, and when I sip it has a great deal of malt, both barley and caramel. The taste is mostly balanced, and somewhat bitter. The palate isn’t very notable. Nonetheless, the Saga is a rather good beer; it’s interesting and complex.
4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 WavyMan (5) - Minnesota, USA - FEB 15, 2013 does not count
Got this from Cub Liquor for first try. Tasted great with steak on the grill with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Will probably try again.

Slightly hazy honey color with 3/4" of stiff white head. Aroma is sweet and tropical with a mix of citrus and other fruits. Taste is the same, and the malt is clean, allowing the hop bitterness to punch through in the end. $2/12oz
