We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

GNBF. Poured clear honeyed golden with a tall, sticky off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet citrus and floral notes over soft bready malt.. fresh and well-balanced. The flavor found lots of bitter grapefruit throughout.. sweet bread, biscuit, and light honey base.. tasty, refreshing finish. Light-medium bodied with moderate bitterness on the palate.. good feel and flow.. this was really good!

Sampled at an esbls tasting. Clear honey gold. A decent almost white head. Fairly big hops are fruity and interesting. Hops are big and fruity. They are complex. Malts are light. Passion fruit comes through late. Nice.

Bottle from Otto’s in Brown Deer. Pours yellowish orange - quite clear - with a well defined white head leaving some nice lacing. Aroma has pine and faint citrus. A bit of herbal presence. All somewhat subtle. Taste is of citrus, pine and some resin. Mostly bitter but in a subtle way, again. A nice flavor set with a faint touch of sweetness. Finishes mostly bitter and with some length, especially as the glass went down. A nice easy drinker without a lot of forcefulness. Probably the tastiest Summit I’ve ever had.

Would I buy again, yes. Enjoyable IPA though I thought a little off their deScription as the american hops seem to cover up the NZ. Nice bitterness bit and finishes clean.

Pours golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruits, grass, some almost peppery spice. Flavor is much more malty than the aroma would suggest, bready and caramel malts, with lots of bitter pine and fruity hops. Dry finish with a lingering earthy bitterness.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear dark yellow with about a half finger of white head. Aroma of a lot of pine and citrus. Taste is about the same. Loads of pine and citrus. Grapefruit and pineapple. Medium bodied with a thin yet slick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, pretty good. I would drink this again.

[On-tap] Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is big on grapefruit. Taste is grapefruit, blood orange, big malt finish. Slight snap peas show up after awhile. Decent mouthfeel, long finish. Overall, not bad. I liked the citrus character, but didn’t overly impress.

Aroma is citrus, pine and hop resin. The flavor is citrus, mild tropical fruit, a hint of malts and a deep hop resin/bitterness in the finish.
