3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Dark gold pour with a medium off white head.
aroma of tropical fruit, apricot as well. some biscuit and caramel under that.
flavour is floral and fruity hop. biscuity flat malt under that. Expected a bit more of a firm malt body as summit usually does.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Squat bottle from Capone’s. Pours clear dark straw with 2-finger off-white head. Nose is...oh my God, Bob Griese, lemme tell ya bout the nose. A huge concoction of that great Citra hop that has quickly become my favortie; tons of tangerine, honeydew, kiwi, mango, passion fruit, pine nuts, resiny sticky hops and tropical fruit all over the place, and malt to spare. The taste is that great Citra hop tropical fruit flavor, complex, with caramel malt to balance. Finishes hoppy and fruity, this one is awesome.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Really good IPA from St. Paul’s Summit Brewing. Pours a copper-gold with medium head. Strong hop aroma. Flavor a bit like heavily-mineraled water, with the citrus and pine bite of your best IPAs. Very satisfying beer on a hot day. Nice clean, bitter finish.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Trinity Spirits. Pours a clear copper orange color with a medium off-white head. Some risidual sudsy lacing along the side of the glass. Nice hoppy aroma with a definite fruit note present. Can’t honestly say I can detect the kiwi and apricot from the description, but it’s a nice medley nonetheless. Flavor is heavy towards the hoppy side but there is some trailing malt notes that help balance it out. Dry mouthfeel. Overall a tasty offering from Summit.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The saga continues (wu tang?). Clear golden pour with a white head. Very clear golden. I got excited. Citrus fruit aroma, some graham cracker. Flavor isn’t nearly as hope forward as I like it, but the malt profile doesn’t get in the way. Mildly bitter finish, good carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear bright orange color with a minimal head that recedes quickly. Pale malt, slightly sweet, sits in the background. Hops are prominent but mild. Lots of fruitiness going on, kiwi, apricot, ripe fruits. Finishes with a sort of lingering biscuit cereal flavor. Pretty easy on the palate and smooth going down, almost like a session IPA. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A decent IPA from Summit, but rough around the edges. The hops give a solid green herbal flavor with some grapefruit thrown in to boot, yet the beer has a harshness that makes the finish mildly abrasive. Prickly carbonation doesn’t help. Still, there’s a bready, citric center that makes Saga drinkable, and the herbal, bitter fade assuages the spiky texture.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle at home. Clear, amber/orange color, about a finger and a half of white head that dissipates in volume quickly, decent lacing. Aroma is citrus hops, lots of grapefruit, some bready malts. The flavor and palate are the highlights here, for Summit anyway. This beer is robustly hoppy but surprisingly well balanced by a sturdy but unimposing malt. Therefore it doesn’t get too crazy on the hop front but is enjoyably bitter. If this were Summit’s standard IPA I’d hold them in higher esteem -- this is a solid direction, and hopefully they reformulate some of their standards based on the success of the Unchained series.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Definitely a hop monster and bolder offering from Summit which in recent years have been doing some exploring. Citrus and fruity aroma. Flavors of grapefruits, juicy apricots, and bubblegum. Slightly acidic at the finish. Overall, a nice find and should satisfy any hophead.
