4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the best beers Summit has ever made. In my view they don’t take enough chances; they’re too corporate. But this beer is great. And whilst it’s still not as hoppy as the IPAs that I love, it’s got a nice creamy head, which is rare for Summit.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Varsity Pub (Marshall, MN). Poured hazy, golden in color, small white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruits; some malts and some grain. Taste is bitter and fruity, very well balanced with malts. Very solid IPA, very enjoyable and easy to drink.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with very pale apricot colored edges and a one finger pillowy white head that slowly settles into a thin, lasting ring. Streaks of soapy lacing coat the glass on the way down. Great looking beer.
Dank resinous hop aroma with a nice balance of floral, citrus and earthy qualities. Hints of fresh cut grass and juicy nuggets along with pine needle and a touch of tropical/citrus fruit sweetness. Very faint tart grapefruit and pineapple sweetness countering the earthier notes. Subtle onion-y summit presence in there as well. Pale malt backbone with some bread, biscuit and light fruit. Nice balance without interfering hinder the juicy hop profile.
Medium body wih a blast of dry, sticky bitterness that’s countered by sweeter hop flavors and a pale malt backbone. Decent amount of dryness with resinous oils and earthy bitterness. Dank buds and grassy pine sap but it’s not overwhelming. Fresh and juicy with prominent citrus and tropical fruit sweetness cutting through the bitterness. Strong grapefruit and pineapple sweetness along with hints of mango, papaya and lemon peel zest. Subtle malt backbone providing nice balance without interfering with the compex hop flavors. Some bread, biscuit, cracker and light fruit notes. Bit strong complex but really well balanced and easy to drink. Could use a little more tropical/citrus sweetness but otherwise a really solid IPA from summit. Could drink this in large quantities.

Nice hop aroma, mostly citrus hop. Taste echos the aroma, citrus, grapefruit, orange, and mango. A pretty good beer to have a few of. Well balanced and drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma: A very fruity aroma. Not unpleasant, but a bit too sweet and cloying for my taste.
Appearance: Clear gold with a nice, white head.
Taste: Light bitterness throughout.
Palate: Light body, dry texture, soft carbonation, long finish.
Overall: The fruity aromas are a clear deception. This is a hops driven beer, but just barely. It doesn’t have a watered down feel, but the bitterness of the hops are faint and distant. I’m not disappointed, and it’s a decently developed beer, but I’m not blown away either.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a slightly cloudy amber color. Nice head, and some insane lacing! Head isn’t long lived.
Aroma is very hoppy. Description calls for some miscellaneous tropical fruits, and I detect little of that. There’s a weed around here, it’s called bitterweed, and it smells just like that. Interesting...
Taste is bitter. Like you would expect from an IPA. In fact this might even be a little more bitter than your average IPA. It’s so hop heavy that the malts are pretty much undetectable.
Mouthfeel is crisp. Finishes clean, but quite bitter. Crisp but smooth Very dry.. Maybe a little citrus.
Overall, it’s quite tasty. One of the better IPA’s I’ve had. If you like IPAs, try it. I was expecting an average IPA, but this was surprising.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours coppery-gold with a nice, lasting head. Aroma is hops, citrus, and hints of the noted kiwi and apricot; scent gets much more pronounced and bouncy as the beer warms. Taste is clean upfront citrus with nice resiny mouthfeel, fading to a balanced bitter. Good beer.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pour into goblet. Aroma isn’t very strong, but has a distinct resin forward quality, with grapefruit and floral notes. Appearance is clear amber with decent (1/2") white foam head that leaves nice lacing. Taste is lightly sweet, moderately butter, and lightly sour, I would say it’s very pleasant but not powerful. Palate has a medium body, creamy texture, and a slightly bitter finish. This is a really good IPA on the lighter side, and the price locally is hard to beat.
