3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 evanlarkin (218) - Northfield, Minnesota, USA - MAY 22, 2012Pours a clear orange. Really clear. About half a finger of head. Smell is heavy on citrus, with a tinge of malt sweetness. The taste starts with bitterness, mellows into a sweet fruity hop and malt magic, and finishes with a lighter, dry bitterness in the back of your mouth. Centennial hops make an appearance, and an almost plum-like flavor is present. Is that Rakau? I’ve never had a beer with that hop before. Overall, I like this beer quite a bit. Much better than the standard Summit IPA offering.

Great beer and readily available. Nice bitterness from the hops in this beer. Almost smells lemony on the nose.

Very crisp, balanced hops with citrus, heavy grapefruit flavor. Not the best IPA but I'd have it again

In airport bar at MSP. Always impressed by the selection of craft at MSP. Nice IPA. Lots of hop flavor, but not a lot of malt to balance. Would drink again in a bar, not likely to seek out in bottles.

Tap. Hazy rust orange with a fluffy two finger head. Lots of nice grapefruit hoppiness, slight caramel and grassiness in the aroma. Nice pop of grapefruit hops, fairly aggressive, mellows with some juicy melon. Medium to lighter body with spritzy carbonation.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hotstuff (3340) - Indiana, USA - MAY 3, 2013
Draft @ 800 Degrees Three Fires-Fort Wayne, IN. This beer poured a small white head that mostly diminished, very little carbonation, spotty amounts of lacing, and a transparent body with a yellow-gold hue. The Aroma is malty and citrus, tropical hops. The Taste is bitter, citrus, pine hops and malty. The Palate is smooth and this is a medium bodied IPA. All-in-all, this beer is very quaffable, the hops are upfront in the Aroma and the Taste as they should be for this beer style, and this beer is worth trying and a beer I recommend if one enjoys drinking hoppy beers.

Juicy orange citrus aroma. Dark gold white head sticky lacing. Taste is delicious citrus orange hoppy, juicy with enough bitterness to balance. Very east to drink and light on the palate.

Cloudy orange-yellow color with a white soapy head. Aroma of pine, berries, and hops. Aggressive hop bite with passionfruit, berry, and pine flavor. Very well done.

Fresh bottle from Capone’s. A bold minty spicy peppery IPA that stands out as the aftertaste is still on my palate some time after consumption. Deep yellow with good retained head. Middling mouthfeel. Good drinkability. Invigorating aroma.

On tap, at various taverns and 12 oz bottle poured into pint glass.
This one is a winner. The folks at Summit have outdone themselves. Very nice slightly pale amber, with crisp aromatic head. Very hoppy like most IPAs but a little more citrusy, flowery character, allowing more of the malt body through.
It just has an overall predominant freshness to it. It’s hoppy without getting bogged down like some IPAs do. This really hits all the right notes for me. Summit EPA will always be their standard bearer, and rightfully so. It’s still my goto beer in on many nights out. But Saga may well be my new favorite Summit.

Didn't realize I didn't rate this. Had it a while back but in short, it's a more hop forward summit extra pale ale. Still has the graininess of the malt but a nice clean grapefruit, pine hop presence.
