COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

12 oz bottle pours a slighltly hazy golden amber color with 1 finger white head and a little lacing. Aroma is mostly hoppy: grapefruit and pine, but with just enough caramel malt for balance. F inish is clean and dry/bitter. Body is at best medium with active carbonation. This one is what I expect from an average IPA.

Pours a hazy golden to orange with a tall, rocky eggshell head that hangs out a little while and leaves some intricate foamy lace rings. Nose involves mild pine and grapefruit rind along with some toasted malt and light caramel. Fair sweet, quite bitter. Medium bodied, somewhat oily, softer carb, a bit grainy, with a lengthy piney bitter and dry finish. Decent brew, easier drinking.

16oz Draft 12/28/14 (High Life Lounge-DSM)-Pours an amber orangish with a decent sized head. Aroma of hops and malt. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and goes down smooth.

Enjoy by date of 04/04/15. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute and a half. Lacing forms nicely speckled with bubbles inside of it. Light carbonation was seen rising. The smell had a sweet citrus with a light honey over top of a sticky piney hops. The taste was mainly sweet through the combination of sweet citrus and piney hops to sweet malts. A light sweet sticky piney - ness leads to a sticky sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with an easy carbonation rolling over my tongue. A slight sharpness is there but becomes quite settling. Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA for when I had it. I wouldn’t mind seeking again when fresh.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into Spieglau IPA glass. It poured a clear yellow colour with sudsy white foam and lace. Predictable A-IPA aromas and flavours: solid but non-descript grainbill, strong bitterness (somewhat harsh), intense black currant, black pepper, flowery and pine resiny essence. Light body, strong carbonation, alcoholic warmth, lasting hoppy aftertaste, eventual dry finish. Good not great, indistinguisably from countless other A-IPAs. I’m actually surprised this beer recieves such high ratings.

Bottle. The pour is a lighter yellow. The aroma is very mild hops, some sweet light fruit. The taste is mild overall for an ipa, but in a good way. The hops are perfectly placed in the taste. A goos smooth drinking ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
