COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We’re proud to announce the new Summit Sága IPA, a decidedly different hop-forward brew due out in early May 2012. The beer has pronounced hop flavors and aromas of kiwi, passionfruit, apricot and gooseberry. Clean, assertive bitterness with balancing Pale malt characteristics. We hop it with the rare New Zealand Rakau hop along with Citra, Centennial and Amarillo. Named after the Norse Goddess of Poetry, who was the God Odin’s drinking companion... also, it was quite a saga to pick a name!

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. Floral hop aroma and resin. Similar flavor to aroma with nice light bitterness. Decent.

12 Fl Oz bottle. Pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aromas are heavy citrus, fruit, and a touch of pine. Tastes are fruit, plenty of malt, and an astringent bitterness. Light to medium body, smooth (almost creamy), assertive carbonation, and a medium astringent finish. Nice beer though I have to admit this sample was drank well after the “drink by” date.

Very fruity on first taste but that doesn’t show up again after 2 sips. Fades to an even blend of hops and malt where no individual flavors stand out. It’s not like some where you taste things in sequence; start, middle, finish. Some would call that well balanced but I find it non-descript and a bit boring. This isn’t a bad patio beer but it’s nothing special either.

12oz bottle pours a hazy copper with a white head and nice lacing. Aromas of grapefruit, citrus, pine, and funk. Flavor is bitter that coats. Delicious.

Bottle from Harry’s Bottle Shop, Grand Forks, ND. Poured bright orange/yellow with a thin head. Not sure how long this has been on the shelves at Harry’s but the aroma was somewhat skunky. Mild citrus but the aroma reminded me more of a pilsner from Germany. The flavor was different. Moderate citrus hops. Pretty dry and a satisfying bitter finish. Good.

On tap at Rosa Mexicano in Minneapolis. Translucent gold color with half a finger white head that quickly recedes. Pine and citrus nose. Apricot and some passionfruit up front, followed by malt and bitter hops. Enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From can into glass. Pours yellow with white head. Big aroma of resiny hops, and light tropical citrus fruit. Crisp, pine flavor with a touch of biscuity malt in the background that really served to show case the hops bitterness. A solid bitter bite and a nice finish. A very good ipa ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Petite bouteille.

Golden, clear, white head. Light aroma, but big American hop flavor, nice tropical notes. Mellow mouthfeel, chewy. Citric finish .

Hoozah....apricot and a few exotic fruits I can’t quite place....balanced nicely with a nice mix of hops. Citrus.
