yespr (6000), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jun 30, 2007 Sample from tap at the brewery. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of cardemmo, strictly slight soapy. Flavour is cardemom, soft sweetness going into a cardemom bitterness blend. Slight soapy finish. I guess this could work for Christmas, but I guess that the 2nd/3rd etc generation scandinavians in Minnesota have taste buds for this I don’t have as a Dane. muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 11, 2007 Updated: Jul 23, 200712 ounce bottle from Cellars Wine and Spirits on Larpenteur, Roseville MN (June 2007, served a bit above fridge temperature from a Duvel glass. A small-to-medium frothy head seems ungenerous, though it is quite stable sitting above the opaque pale gold body....quite expressive spicy aroma, wheat sourness and light orange-lemon are there but overall this is dominated by clove, ginger and pepper though never too much; this is really quite inviting and delightful....the body is much more peppery and dry than the vast majority of American wits, quite refreshing, lightly yeasty/bready in the center, becoming quite dry and tart at the finish, with fruit characteristics muted throughout....if anything this is a little too dry for me, and the slight cardboardy edge at the finish doesn’t help; but bitterness and pepper continue onward, and on the whole this is one of this brewer’s best beers, and one of the best American wits I’ve had. Bravo! chris_o (4398), London, Greater London, England Jul 15, 2007 On tap at the brewery. A rather curious (marketing?) concept. I understand that the addition of cardamom is what provides the "Scandinavian interpretation". Not that any of that really matters. Pale gold colour and rather clearer than I would expect from the style. Lots of spices in evidence, with coriander to the fore. However, I can’t say I specifically picked up the cardamom. There’s a light lemony bite in the flavour but there’s also a slightly sweet overall impression. Pleasant enough
Cornfield (4254), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2007 Nice looking pour, a hazy straw body, a continual stream of bubbles, and a tall & sustained pillowy head. The aroma seems a tad strong on the spices, the coriander dominating. It all balances out well in the flavor, a lightly tart wheat, some orange zest, a drop or two of lemon, and solid spicing. Nice refresher.

JPDIPSO (4197), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA May 24, 2007 Hazy to cloudy straw color, with a taller cream colored head. Reef of lacing. Huge herbal aromas, with rosemary and thyme, but a touch of sulfur as well, so I’m getting a deviled egg scent as well. Light lemon, agave and touch of scone nose as well. The bouquet is a touch to odd for me to go higher. Spice flavors mingle with pale malt and wheat. Cardamom is all over the place in this one. This one has the trappings on a fresh ginger brew in that the spices are overpowering and distract. This will likely mellow in a short time frame and be a little less "hot". Right now it is a little spice bomb. A thai food coupling would be good.
