COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The fifth beer in the Unchained Series will be from brewer Nate Siats and is an Imperial Pumpkin Porter. Nate is a big fan of pumpkins and wants to do this up right, starting with where the pumpkins come from. The small, local, organic farm that is providing the pumpkins just so happens to be owned by Charles Jones, one of the strong fellas who work on our keg line! Nateís desired flavor profile in his own words- A dark, chocolaty, full bodied beer with a slight bitter after taste. Evenly spiced with a hint of pumpkin, you would think you were sitting down for thanksgiving dessert. Perfect for a cool, fall afternoon.

12oz bottle from Specís in Houston. Dark brown, almost black body with a haze of tan head thatís sticky. Aromas of fall spices, pumpkin, some roast. Flavors of spice, day old coffee, roasted malts, ashy and a bit of pumpkin towards the end. Roasty/mild bitter finish. Mouthfeel and body is thinner than expected. No alc in the nose or palate.

I donít know what happened to my rating for this. Itís a really really good pumpkin beer thatís a bit portery, with some cocoa notes and mild roastiness. Solid drink, should definitely be made again...

Smells kinda milky with pumpkin spice and some chocolate. Tastes like a pumpkin-mocha-frapaccino, where the initial spiced sweetness is balanced by a bitter coffee character.

12oz bottle. Pours dark brown. The pumpkin flavor is faint if at all but in all fairness this bottle may have been sitting for some time. Thereís a bit of sweetness and just a light spice which i prefer actually. Not too special here but not bad.

Did they JUST retire this? Because I just had it on tap 10 days ago @ Radio Maria in Champaign. It came in a shaker pint glass, the dark brown colour of an old penny, and with just a skiff ofa head. The aroma was nice-- sweet pumpkin with just a hint of roast. The palate didnít quite deliver though. The backbone flavour seemed sweet and cola-ish, with a little pumpkin and a little roast, but overall it was weak and thin.

Bottle share on 1/6/12: A bit light on overall flavor profile. looking for more spice character. A bit light on pie flavors, but overall balanced. nose had discernible pumpkin and roasted malt, but none too bold. overall a good drinking pumpkin beer, but just not for me. Just expect bolder flavors from "imperial pumpkin"

Bottle to glass. Notes of earthiness and slight spice on the nose. Dark pour with tan head. This beer was awesome. The bottle I held on to wasnít as good as the first few, but it was still a good beer. Picked up a little bit of chocolate on the back end. No pumpkin, although it was never too prevalent.

I must have forgot to rate this one, but it has been one of my favorites of the unchained series. I think the pumpkin spice goes better with a porter then the other pumkins out there for some reason.

More spice than pumpkin flavor, noticeable alcohol presence. Smoky finish sticks around but isnít overpowering.

Thanks to BarZigKin for sharing his bottle. Slight roasted malt and a definite pumpkin & spice aroma. Pours black with a creamy cola colored head. Nice roasted coffee & cream flavor with a barely discernable pumpkin note. Overall itís good stuff.

12oz bottle 9/7/11 (Binnyís Downers Grove)-46į in Lager Glass-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of pumpkin, chocolate, and coffee. Taste of pumpkin, chcolate, coffee, spices, roasted malt. This light to medium bodied brew is well balanced and is a nice refreshing take for a pumpkin brew. Though for a porter and much less an imperial porterit seems a bit light.
