3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 nuplastikk (3274) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 26, 2013
Tap at Dexters. Thick opaque brown-burgundy. Thin, steady off-white head. Clove and bitterness upfront lead to a sweet, malty finish. Medium bodied, quite sessionable. Light banana tones, maybe a touch of rye, gingerbread. Not quite on the level of a true Bavarian example, but still enjoyable enough, well executed.

Had this form a bottle many times. A solid American example. Sweet wheat flavor with some banana and fruit flavor, as well as moderately roasted malt and cloves. Appropriate palate, and light brown color. I can’t pick out any sediment which leads me to believe this is filtered, and I definitely prefer these beers unfiltered.

I'm giving this an 8 on taste cause the thickness of the dunkel smoothness of the weizen combines so well def a different but surprisingly good beer

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of wheat, carmel, light banana and light clove. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, carmel, light clove and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering carmel finish.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 youdictategood (234) - Florida, USA - OCT 15, 2012
Single bottle from Total Wine. Pours a very hazy copper with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, sourdough. Taste is a wheat beer without the citrus - a little banana, cloves, and mint. Finishes very dry. Very light body and a little watery. Really interesting - definitely makes me want to try more Summit in the future.

I have liked all of the Summit Unchained brewmaster series beers. but this is one of my favorites. It ours a hazy deep copper or rust colored with a good creamy one finger tan head. The head fades slowly and leaves good sticky lacing. The aroma is of dark fruits, spices and sweet malts. The flavors are deep and rich, with a good yeast with phenols of spice and tartness. It finishes sweet, fruity and very refreshing. Slightly better on tap than out of the bottle, but both are excellent.
