COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For Summit Unchained 09, brewer Eric Blomquist is creating a genuine Dunkel Weizen - an often-overlooked German wheat beer style. Similar to Hefe Weizen but darker, this brew will offer complex and rounded flavors like biscuit, toffee and chocolate from the malts along with hints of banana and clove esters.

Bottle. Pours brown with caramel highlights, hazy as hell, nice soapy white head. Yeasty aroma, with clove and hints of banana. More of that in the taste, with a bit of toffee sweetness. Quick finish. Full-bodied and refreshing. Pretty much what this should taste like.

Bottle. Slightly hazy dark brownish orange pour, a little spotty head and a very pleasant spicy banana aroma. Flavor is more spicy clove, some muted banana esters and a little metallic on the finish. Slightly better than average.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a weizen glass. Pours a medium brownish tan. Tons of thick head and a good amount of lacing. Aroma is very fruity and sweet. Mouthfeel is typical of a wheat beer, moderately heavy but not overly so... and easily drinkable. Taste is also very fruity with the bubblegum, herbs and lemon coming to the forefront. A very good dunkel. Glad to have a good American-brewed one.
