Summit kicks off the new limited-release Union Series with Meridian Session Ale. Inspired by Belgian Enkel (single) style ales. Drinkable yet distinctive. Simple in design yet complex in character. Brewed with a single malt, Concerto Pale, that’s a rising star in the UK and a new hop variety called Meridian that was actually discovered by accident in Oregon (more on that story below). Of course, we called it Meridian Session Ale for a reason. So don’t let the whole single-minded thing keep you from ordering another round.

Pours light orange with a tight white head. Aroma of mild Belgian yeast, wheat, light spice. Sweet malty flavor with a nice lingering bitterness on the back end. Very flavorful and still sessionable.

This was the one beer I’ve had this year--of over 100--that I went back to the store for, over and over. Tasted good well after the last sip. Tasted a Belgian influence, citrus smell, not too bitter. Light lemon-yellow-orange color, and fluffy head that was a great start to every glass. I am looking for other beers with Meridian hops and Concerto Pale malt.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with light head. Touch of banana; kinda yeasty. Sweet, but not too sweet.

Picked up a single 12-oz bottle from Heritage Liquors in Maplewood, Minnesota. Pours a clear golden pale, light amber colored brew with an average-sized off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some spotty lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, a hint of honey, floral hops and a touch of ale yeast. Taste is light to medium bodied, average carbonation, with flavors of golden grain malt, a hint of caramel, some grassy and floral hops, some Belgian yeast and a touch of clove. Finish has a short light spicy hop aftertaste with some lingering Belgian yeast and clove aftertaste.

nice spicy flavour, banana and clover but the malty sweetness is somehow cloying. reminds me of a mild version of BPA.

Pours slightly hazy gold with a short white head. Sweet grass and citrus aroma. Taste is more malt, yeast and pepper. Interesting but less than the sum of its parts.

Really good beer from Summit. Goes down smooth but has a bite (somewhat spicy) at the finish.

Orange hazy pour big head. Aroma of belgian yeast and malty roast. Tastes mostly of belgian yeast with a slight grassiness. Pronounced bitter finish. Very good balance here; a great slightly pale belgian session.

Another winner for summit..bitter finish but very drinkable. A good filler type beer amongst mixed company. A very mild Belgian vibe... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Summit brewery. When I saw "session" I thought it might be a mild, but it is actually a Belgian ale. Light gold color. Malt sweetness and a fair amount of hops for the style. Nice, smooth palate and it is definitely sessionable. Good.
