COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Summit kicks off the new limited-release Union Series with Meridian Session Ale. Inspired by Belgian Enkel (single) style ales. Drinkable yet distinctive. Simple in design yet complex in character. Brewed with a single malt, Concerto Pale, thatís a rising star in the UK and a new hop variety called Meridian that was actually discovered by accident in Oregon (more on that story below). Of course, we called it Meridian Session Ale for a reason. So donít let the whole single-minded thing keep you from ordering another round.

Bottled. Poured clear, bright golden with a short, dense white head. The aroma picked up sweet banana, cloves, and pine/sprucey hoppage over lightly-biscuity malt.. aromatic grasses and light tropical fruit accented.. interesting stuff. The flavor found soft pale and lesser bready malts at the core, with citrus and pine bitterness plus peppery yeast around.. finished with fresh, greener hops and banana and black pepper from the yeast. Lighter-bodied and fairly well carbonated on the palate.. balance was alright, but the hops were a little too assertive for the size of the beer.. refreshing in the end.. good sessionable drink.

Bottle. Pours cloudy golden orange with small white head. Nose is malt and citrus. Taste is lemon, malt and spice. A little too sour for me.

Bottle shared at Craft Ale House. Pours hazy dark golden with off-white head. Nose was pale malt, candi sugar, hopcitrus, mild funk. Tasted hopcitric and slightly funky up front, with more pale malt and florals late. Not terribly complex.

Old rate. It is a light and citrusy pale ale. Not a huge bitterness or aroma. The hop is kinda meh.

12oz bottle pours hazy pale gold with a finger of head. Nose is yeasty hay and citrus. Taste is spices, hay, earthy citrus, pale grains, wheat, orange, lemon. Finish is fruity belgian yeast, straw, lemon. Average Belgian-style.

Gold ,clear but with bits of bottle debrie/yeast. Bright, very nice creamy head and lace. Aroma is fairly clovy in general with bannannas I guess. Some mild spicey kinda noble hop aroma maybe. Mineral, light malt. Citrus kinda spicey finish. Tastey easy, spicey citrus hoppy. Goes quick. Think I like the malt more than the hop though.

It poured a bright orange color with a white head. The aroma was of pepper, biscuit, some floral with some lemon zest and some yeast. The taste was of biscuit, yeast, pepper and lemon citrus notes. Not bad.

6/08/13, Poured from bottle into thick, tulip glass (Cabo Glass). Fleeting head. Light aroma of citrus and spice. Color is light gold like a wheat beer. Initial taste is light but then on comes moderate malty bitter. Taste the fades leaving same aftertaste. Finishes very dry. As it warmed in the glass, aroma more pronounced and the strange bitter also lessened. Beer seems like a mix of hefeweiss and something I like better than hefeweiss. I had this somewhere on tap and liked it enough to chase down a 6 pack. The bottle at home is a tad disappointing and has me asking myself why I invested time seeking this beer. If I can find it served somewhere I will update this review. ---Rated via the Gridfather

12oz bottle (enjoy by 9/23/13) - pours hazy gold with white head and modest lacing. Nose is grassy/floral. Reminds me more of a blonde/golden ale. Slightly spicy finish. fairly dry. light-medium to medium body. Sessionable indeed. Allez les Bleus!

Bottle, pours a light-orange body with off-white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, citrus, banana, and faint spice. Taste is mainly wheat and malts with hints of hops and citrus. Light body and easy to drink.
