12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee Muscatine. Black appearance with a small tan head, light lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, bitter chocolate, earthy spicy hops and coffee. Similar flavor, adding nuances of licorice, molasses and dark fruits. Medium hop bitterness (earthy, grassy, floral) and mild malty sweetness. Medium plus body with a semi-dry feel and a lasting finish. Overall, pretty complex, lots of flavor.

On tap at the Red Cow’s birthday. Strong stout with complexity that makes it a pseudo imperial. Not sure what makes this an export stout over imperial, but it’s good stuff.
