COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique seasonal beer offers the warmth of an old English pub to help ward off the chill of a winter’s night. It has its origins in British neighborhood pubs where villagers would gather to shake off the damp cold of the bitter English winter. They’d share a pint or two of winter warmer ale by the fire, catch up on local gossip, and stay inside, where it was warm. We’ve brewed our version in the tradition of those winter ales, with a robust, full-bodied flavor and a tangy hint of spices.

Clear dark red, little head. Heavy fruit and medium crystal malt aroma. Nice soft large body. Extremely lacking in flavor. Just a bit of caramel and spice.

Sampled at Food and Froth. Good. Exactly what it claims to be, nothing more, nothing less. Nice for a cold snowy night.

Found this one bottled as part of a Summit multipack at Binny’s in St. Charles, Illinois. Clear, very dark red pour with a thick, fluffy light brown head. Sweet, bready malty alcoholic nose. Strong, very malty, nutty, buttery, and a touch of bourbon. Soft but strong finish. This is a good beer from Summit.

large foamy head with a very dark brown pour. mild rosted malt nose is no warning for what your about to taste. Sweet roasted malt flavor that lingers into a slight bitterness at the end. One of these before bed will help with those long winters naps. Very nice.

A nice English strong ale. Better than most of this style though at 5.9% I wouldn’t consider this too "strong". Aroma was decent. Sweet dark malts with a roastiness to it. Pour was beautiful. A deep dark brown that you can’t see through with a flashlight (no head). Taste was old and semi sweet. A hint of chocolate and dark/caramel malts throughout with no carbonation to bring out the flavors. This has that unexplainable "something" that makes it taste like winter. Nice beer.

On draft at Durty Nellie’s. Pour was dark brown with some ruby hues. The aroma was sweet fruity candy (it was actually reminiscient of something from child hood, but I can’t remember which specific candy), with chocolate mostly supporting it underneath. The flavor was also sweet and fruity, some cherries perhaps, chocolate, nuts, even faint coffee grounds in the finish. Mouthfeel was full and a little on the sticky side. Not bad, but nothing to write home about, a bit too cloying.

Drught at pub in Ida Noyes. Pours dark brown with nice tan head. Aroma is coffee, caramel. Flavor is coffee, nutty and roast, very sweet. Seems a little out of balance and a bit thin. Nothing special but goes down easy.
