Commercial Description:
This unique seasonal beer offers the warmth of an old English pub to help ward off the chill of a winter’s night. It has its origins in British neighborhood pubs where villagers would gather to shake off the damp cold of the bitter English winter. They’d share a pint or two of winter warmer ale by the fire, catch up on local gossip, and stay inside, where it was warm. We’ve brewed our version in the tradition of those winter ales, with a robust, full-bodied flavor and a tangy hint of spices.

Bottle: Tan head that my girlfriend described as looking like lake foam. Dark amber color. Very malty aroma. The taste could have stood more complexity, heavy on the raisin and malt flavors with some citus mixed in. Liked the level of hops at the end. Finish was long and wonderful, and the body on this beer full, and for me these factors helped compensate for a somewhat uneventful taste.

Pours dark dark brown with a thin head. Aroma of roasted malt with citrusy hops in the background. Nice mouth feel, flavor seems subdued.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a mahogany color with a large tan head. The aroma is strong molasses and nutmeg. The flavor is roasty malts, molasses, hints of dry chocolate and nutmeg. The finish is long and mildly bitter. Tasty.

12 oz bottle pours a brownish black with a small head. Good carmel malt doughy and toasted but citrusy aroma. Bready flavors are dominant, medium bodied, carmel and toffee contrasted with a citrussy hops and spices. Surpisingly tasty.

This ok but too biter for me. I found it a little hard to drink though I liked its coffee notes. Just too hoppy.

Pours very dark brown with inner ruby hints, contrasted nicely by stark white head. I love this color combo more than almost anything, for some reason. Smooth mouthfeel, somewhat light body. Toasty with only a hint of a wintery dark fruitiness and spices.

light brown with a tan head. not too much in the aroma. slightly roasty toast aroma. flavor is a bit weak. mostly sweet roasted malt. body seems a bit light and the finish is slightly watery. not a horrible beer but nothing great.

Dark brown with a dark tan head that holds for awhile. The aroma is rich malt with caramel and citrus. The body is heavy with a sweet rich flavor that lingers. The finish is a bit sour, when the sweetness finally fades.
